Stalker 2 issues a warning in the form of a point of no return to let you complete unfinished business. Read along to learn more about it.
Stalker 2 doesn’t give you the warning for a Point of No Return until very late in the game. Counting the number of quests in the game can be a little subjective, based on what you would call a complete quest and not consider it a “part” of the other one.
But if you find that there are 34 main quests, the Point of No Return warning swings by during the 32nd main quest. We are referring to the Down Below quest where you venture below the zone for a boss fight against Col. Korshunov.
This mission takes place in Prypiat, which you visit for the first time as part of The Boundary main mission, just two missions prior to Down Below. There will be a few objectives that you need to complete before you can enter the basement of a gray building to initiate the next phase of the Down Below quest.
As soon as you enter the basement, you will see the Point of No Return warning. It asks you to finish any of your unfinished business before proceeding. If you proceed, you won’t be able to access The Zone freely.
Once you have defeated Korshunov in the underground facility, you will find yourself in a room, listening to another set of dialogues. After looting a nearby blue safe, you will have to talk to Richter. This is when you will get another warning. This time, it doesn’t state itself as a Point of No Return. Instead, Richter will simply ask you whether you are ready to go.
You can either reply that you wish to stay for a bit longer or head to the Red Forest for the Last Wish mission.
We believe the reason for the two Point of No Return warnings was simple. If you had returned the first time around, you could have roamed around The Zone freely. However, the choice that Richter gives you may be relevant only to the region of Prypiat itself.
How To Access the Point of No Return in Stalker 2
When the Down Below mission starts, you are in the Polissya Hotel. Your task is to get out and clear out a nearby building of hostile forces. It’s a relatively easy task. Don’t worry. You don’t have to sweep the entire building from top to bottom.
Once you are done cleaning around, find the body of one Maj. Dvoryankov for a keycard. If you can’t find this name anywhere near the combat site, start searching all the bodies until you find the said item.
With the keycard in hand, walk out of the gray building and size it up like we did in the picture above. Now, you must follow the right wall of the building until it turns around the corner in the back. This is where you will find a flight of stairs going down.
Take them and head into the basement below. Swipe the keycard here to open the locked door. Once you are inside, you will see the infamous Point of No Return pop up on your screen. Ignore it if you wish to proceed with the mission.
