Why do you keep seeing Thoth’s Wrath so often when playing Marvel Rivals? Explore the reason and meaning behind it.

Thoth’s Wrath in Marvel Rivals is one of the phenomena that take place on the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda maps. The other two are Kokou’s Wrath and Mujaji’s Wrath. All of these Wraths serve different functions and have different causes. They can be slightly confusing to predict and understand. So, we are here after running a few tests on King T’Challa’s intergalactic lands to clear your doubts as much as we can.
All About Thoth’s Wrath in Marvel Rivals
How To Activate
Almost all maps in Marvel Rivals have a feature that allows them to bring some sort of change to keep things interesting. Since the developers aim to make the game feel exhilarating at all times, a map that reacts to changes is a good choice. Every map has a different way of reacting to changes. The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda has a dynamic feature that enables the Wraths of three gods from different pantheons.
Thoth’s Wrath will activate either when both teams have destroyed the environment enough on the Wakandan maps, the payload has almost reached the first checkpoint (middle of the map), or the Domination match has been going long enough. I haven’t yet found a sure way of telling exactly when it triggers, but the ways mentioned above can get you close to the god’s wrath.

What Does Thoth’s Wrath Do in Marvel Rivals?
Thoth was the Egyptian God of Wisdom and the Moon until Khonshu took his place. However, he didn’t lose all his followers because he found his place among the Orisha, the Wakandan pantheon. This is why players can find Thoth’s Wrath only on Wakandan maps. Whenever the two teams have reached the threshold mentioned earlier, tall pillars of air form around the objective. Players can then hold the jump button to ride these winds and gain higher ground compared to enemies on the ground.
This phenomenon works as a great escape tactic for squishy characters and healers when they are being dived by enemies. Moreover, if you are playing a character that can descend slowly while attacking continuously, like Scarlet Witch, Hela, Rocket Raccoon, etc., you will find these winds very useful. Additionally, players can also use them to reposition themselves to gain a tactical advantage.
