Curious about rank compatibility in Marvel Rivals? Explore which ranks can play together and enhance your gaming experience with friends.

If you are planning on playing the Marvel Rivals competitive matches, you have to know how ranks work in the game. That is because your ranks will determine whether you can team up with your friends during such matches. So, here is a guide on how ranks work and how it can impact your ability to team up and play together with friends.
How Do Ranks Work in Marvel Rivals?

There are nine rank divisions in the game. Most of these also have tiers within them. Here are the ranks and their divisions:
- Bronze (Tiers III, II and I)
- Silver (Tiers III, II and I)
- Gold (Tiers III, II and I)
- Platinum (Tiers III, II and I)
- Diamond (Tiers III, II and I)
- Grandmaster (Tiers III, II and I)
- Celestial (Tiers III, II and I)
- Eternity
- One Above All
Now that you know all the ranks in the game, let’s understand how the developer restrict the queuing together process.
Rank Restrictions in Competitive Matches

The following are some rules that you have to follow when trying to start a competitive match with friends:
- All Gold, Silver, and Bronze-ranked players can play with each other without any restrictions.
- If your current rank is between Celestial I and Gold I, you will only be able to queue with players who are within three tiers of you. For example, Platinum I and Diamond II ranked players can play together since the gap is within two ranks. However, a Platinum I-ranked player can’t queue together with a Grandmaster III player. That’s because the gap, in this case, is more than three ranks.
- Players ranked One Above All or Eternity can join with Celestia I and Celestial II players. However, in such cases, the differences in their rank points must not exceed 200.
Another major restriction is the lack of crossplay between PC and console players in the Competitive mode. So, if you’re on a PC, you will only be able to team up with other players on a PC. However, Xbox and PlayStation console owners can team up with each other.
The game’s developer also revealed that you would need to get your rank back when the first half of Season 1 ends. Go through our complete guide on how you can reclaim your rank when the second half of Season 1 begins.
