In this guide, we shall go over where to find Astegon in Palworld, how to locate the entrance to his cave, and how to breed the Pal.
Palworld features several Pals for you to collect, with all of these Pals bringing their distinct sets of strengths and weaknesses. Fans around the world take part in heated debates on who the strongest or weakest Pal is. However, it is almost universally agreed that Astegon is one super-cool-looking Pal. This giant Dragon/Dark-type Pal looks like he’s been pulled out straight from an episode of Power Rangers, with a Megazord-like design and plenty of sharp edges over his limbs and head.
His badass design aside, Astegon comes with an absurdly high Level 4 Mining trait, making him one of the best Pals for work sustainability. You NEED to get this Pal, and if you don’t know where to look—our guide should help you. In this guide, we shall go over where to find Astegon in Palworld.
Where To Find Astegon?
Astegon can be found both in the wild and as an Alpha Boss residing in a cave in Palworld, the latter of which is obviously harder. If you’re looking for Astegon in the wild, you will find him in Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3 in the game. Fast travel to the Deep Sand Dunes at (527,525) and use a flying mount to cross the water and head northeast and reach the location. Explore the area, and you’ll find Astegon in the vicinity.
You can also get Astegon from a Huge Dragon Egg. Find a Huge Dragon Egg and hatch it using an Egg Incubator. The Huge Dragon Egg can drop any of the following Pals:
- Astegon
- Relaxaurus
- Relaxaurus Lux
- Jormuntide
- Jormuntide Ignis
- Orserk
- Jetragon
- Elphidran Aqua
- Quivern Botan
- Xenogard
- Blazamut Ryu
- Silvegis
Where To Find Astegon’s Cave?
If you’re looking to go on the hunt for the Astegon Alpha Boss, you first have to locate his cave, which can be a little tricky. The Astegon Alpha Boss is located inside the Destroyed Mineshaft in the volcanic region of the map.
First, fast travel to Mount Obsidian Midpoint fast-travel point at (-497, -444). From this point, make your way west. We recommend using a flying mount such as Jetragon to do so to cover the distance quick and easy. Keep heading directly west from the fast travel point till you’re about to hit the mountain surface. Stop at the very end and look to your left to find a hidden entrance.
Enter the cave, and do so with a torch or hip lantern as it is dark. The path through the cave is pretty straightforward, so follow through straight. At the very end of the cave, you will find Astegon waiting in the arena. Bring him down to low HP and use a Legendary Pal sphere to capture him.
How To Breed Astegon
You can also breed Astegon by combining two Pals in the Breeding Farm, one male and the other female, to obtain a Huge Dragon Egg. You can then place the Huge Dragon Egg on the Egg Incubator to hatch Astegon. Use the following breeding combinations for Astegon:

- Cryolinx Terra X Bastigor
- Bastigor X Astegon
- Astegon X Astegon
- Astegon X Cryolinx Terra
- Orserk X Bastigor
- Orserk X Cryolinx Terra
