Where to Find Vulture’s Roost in Starfield

Here’s everything you need to know about where to find Vulture’s Roost in Starfield, one of the game’s secret areas.

Best Starfield Sniper Build Guide

Vulture’s Roost in Starfield can be found within the star system of Jaffa. As you progress through Starfield’s main story, you will eventually come across the Ecliptic mercenaries. They are folks who don’t take kindly to strangers and are often hostile against anyone who dares step foot in their bases. Think of them as “bandit outposts.” Naturally, if you stumble upon one such Ecliptic base during your interstellar journey, you are expected to clear their outpost to hopefully aid the local populace against the mercs. While clearing one such random Ecliptic outpost, you will eventually receive a message that hints at the Vulture’s Roost, a secret location.

Vulture’s Roost isn’t marked on the map, nor does it have any mission associated with it. However, if you manage to find the location, you will be rewarded for your curiosity and effort. However, given the scale and scope of Starfield, finding a specific location as the Vulture’s Roost is akin to finding a needle in a haystack.

Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to reach the Vulture’s Roost in Starfield.

How to Reach Vulture’s Roost in Starfield

As mentioned earlier in this article, Vulture’s Roost is in the star system of Jaffa – Jaffa IV. To reach Jaffa, you will need to navigate close to Porrima, home of Paradiso. It should be noted that Jaffa is a level 35 star system. It’s best to venture out in search of Vulture’s Roost after you’re at least level 30. That way, you’re not outclassed and overwhelmed by the enemies in Jaffa. Furthermore, if you happen to stumble upon Jaffa IV during your interstellar adventures accidentally, it’s possible to find the Vulture’s Roost even if you don’t receive the Ecliptic message.

Vulture Roost has an icon of a mining colony, which should be easy to find once you land on Jaffa IV. Do note that, to access and explore Vulture’s Roost, you will need the Security 3 skill. Additionally, it is also recommended to come prepared with a handful of digipicks. Most of the rare and unique loot in Vulture’s Roost is hidden behind locked doors. As such, having the lockpick (Security 3) skill as well as some digipicks handy is quite necessary.

Vulture’s Roost Sections

The Vulture’s Roost is divided into three parts – the Entrance, the Bar and Bedrooms, and the Central Landing Bay. Each of these sections is filled with waves of Ecliptic mercs, and also, unique loot. Here’s a breakdown of all the three sections of Vulture’s Roost:

The Entrance

  • Upon landing at the Vulture’s Roost (Jaffar IV), you will have to make your way through hordes of hostile Ecliptic mercenaries.
  • Each section of the Vulture’s Roost is filled with these groups of mercenaries that start attacking anyone that trespasses their territory.
  • The opening area of the Vulture’s Roost is relatively easy to manage. That is as long as you’re at or around level 35.
  • The starting area (Entrance) doesn’t have any special loot. However, it does have a few rare crafting materials that you might find some use for.

Bar and Bedrooms

  • The Bar and crew quarters are at the center of Vulture’s Roost.
  • After reaching the Bar, you can choose to lockpick all the closed doors to loot everything inside.
  • However, if you want to save yourself the hassle of picking too many locks, you can simply infiltrate the rooms via the kitchen.
  • The kitchen houses a chest that includes the key to all the rooms.
  • Most of the rooms contain Contrabands, including Aurora.

Central Landing Bay

  • The Central Landing Bay houses the toughest Ecliptic mercs in Vulture’s Roost.
  • If you head down the landing bay, you will find a few chests that contain rare crafting material.
  • However, the biggest prize in this area is the Dagger ship (class A).

It should be noted that you can clear Vulture’s Roost even if you don’t receive the message. However, getting the message makes it a bit easier to locate the area.
