Starter Packs in Pokemon TCG Pocket Explained
Minutes into the game, you will be asked to choose from one of three starter packs in Pokemon TCG Pocket. These starter packs are basic booster packs, and each will give you five cards. Since these are booster packs, you will get to choose one of these packs:
- Pikachu Booster Pack
- Charizard Booster Pack
- Mewtwo Booster Pack
Each pack consists of different cards and this choice will basically impact the beginner deck that you will create in the game. They will also impact the card that you can get from Wonder Pick later on in the game.
What Happens ff You Choose the Pikachu Booster Pack?
If you choose the Pikachu Booster Pack as your starter pack, your beginner deck will Rapidash deck. This will be a primarily fire-type deck, and you will also be able to get the Arcanine ex card as your rare pull. Finally, you can also get the Squirtle Special Illustration card from your Wonder Pick.
What Happens if You Choose the Charizard Booster Pack?
You will be able to create a Pinsir beginner deck if you choose the Charizard Booster Pack as your starter. Exeggutor ex is the rare pull from this deck, and you can get a Special Illustration Charmader from the Wonder Pick with this choice.
What Happens if You Choose the Mewtwo Booster Pack?
You are looking at a Sandslash deck if you select the Mewtwo Booster Pack as your starter in Pokemon TCG Pocket. The rare pull from this deck is the Marowak ex card. On the other hand, you can get a nice Special Illustration Bulbasaur card from the Wonder Pick.
Which is the Best Starter Pack in Pokemon TCG Pocket?
The Pikachu Charizard Booster Packs are the best choices in terms of firepower. Charizard ex card is the strongest card currently in terms of damage output and can one-shot most other cards. Pikachu ex is an extremely strong card that relies on more skillful play.
However, the Mewtwo ex Booster Pack can give you access to both Mewtwo ex and Venusaur ex, which are powerful cards on their own. Venusaur ex boasts impressive support abilities, while Mewtwo ex synergizes very well with Gardevoir decks.
Do note that all the beginner decks you can create are going to be basic decks, and you will need to rely on your strategic prowess to make the most of them.
Which Starter Pack Should You Choose in Pokemon TCG Pocket?
You should make a choice based on the “ex card” that you want in Pokemon TCG Pocket. You will only be able to get Charizard ex from the Charizard Booster Pack, Mewtwo ex from the Mewtwo Booster Pack, and Pikachu ex from the Pikachu Booster Pack.
The Special Illustration cards that you can receive from Wonder Trade also depend on your starter pack choice. You should keep this in mind while making a final decision. If you are not satisfied with the cards you get from your starter packs, you can always reroll your account and hope to get better and more desired cards.
