Here is what you need to know about Jin Dahaad in Monster Hunter Wilds to avoid getting cold feet once you encounter this Leviathan.

Jin Dahaad is one of the new additions to Monster Hunter Wilds. This Leviathan-class creature is considered the apex predator of the Iceshard Cliffs region. This creature boasts an enormous, serpentine body. While its head is relatively small, it makes up for its intimidating sets of metallic, jagged horns.
Dealing with this monster is already challenging enough, but it gets more active during the Frostwinds, the Inclemency of the region. This massive monster boasts its power over ice, breathing frost that can freeze hunters and other monsters who happen to be nearby.
Here is everything you need to know about the Jin Dahaad in Monster Hunter as well as its origins, abilities, and more.
Jin Dahaad Origin in Monster Hunter
Jin Dahaad is a newly introduced Leviathan-class creature in Monster Hunter Wilds. While its exact origins remain a mystery, it looks like this creature has adapted well to the extreme conditions of the Iceshard Cliffs. Unlike other Leviathans commonly found in aquatic or humid environments, Jin Dahaad has somehow evolved to thrive in cold regions. Or perhaps, it doesn’t need to evolve. Maybe it could have been an unseen force shaping the ecosystem of the Iceshard Cliffs long before hunters arrived.
There is a lot to uncover about this Leviathan creature and its frosty winter wonderland. But for now, we’ll have to wait for the game’s full release on February 28, 2025.
Jin Dahaad Abilities in Monster Hunter
One of Jin Dahaad’s most defining abilities is its powerful frost breath, capable of freezing hunters and monsters caught in its path. This freezing attack is not just for direct damage, it can also use its power over ice to climb on vertical surfaces. Considering its massive size, it’s interesting how this icy Leviathan can move with surprising agility, scaling cliffs and hanging from frozen ledges to launch devastating attacks from above.

If the cold never bothered you anyway, you can face Jin Dahaad once Monster Hunter Wilds arrives in the market on February 28, 2025. There is also a second beta testing phase that you can take advantage of for free. The OBT is open to all platforms, including PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. You can use this opportunity to decide whether you want to purchase the game on release.
