MOTHERv3, also known as V, is a popular VTuber known for using a synthesized AI voice for streaming on Twitch. On December 20, 2024, V was banned on Twitch for supposedly engaging in fraudulent activity. The VTuber, in a post on X, stated that the ban was due to a violation occurring during purchases. Twitch has not mentioned any duration for the ban.
Fans speculate that the ban occurred due to the “Bits” scam, which took Twitch by storm in 2022. For those unaware, Twitch streamers have faced bans due to fraudulent activities involving Bits, Twitch’s virtual currency. V stated in an X post that she will be appealing the ban.
V is an independent VTuber, meaning she is not affiliated with any agencies such as VShojo or HoloLive. She started streaming on Twitch in November 2022 and amassed over 106,000 followers on Twitch before the ban. MOTHERv3 currently has over 53.3K followers on X and 581K subscribers on YouTube. Her name, MOTHERv3, stands for “Multi-Functional Optimized Technological Human-like Emulating Render Version 3.”
In her streams, MOTHERv3 often engages in various activities, such as reacting to events like Nintendo Direct presentations and attempting challenges in games like Subnautica. She also engages with her audience via Discord and often reacts to their setups. V has not been banned before on any platforms. The indefinite ban is her first one on the Amazon-owned platform.
Community Reaction to MOTHERv3 Ban
The X user community was quick to react to the ban, calling out Twitch for banning the VTuber. Some users mentioned how Twitch treats VTubers unfairly and that streamers will leave for YouTube and Kick if this continues.

MOTHERv3 took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the ban mail she received from Twitch. The mail stated that V was engaged in fraudulent activities on the platform. The mail also mentioned that V’s access to Twitch services is indefinitely restricted.

In another post on the same day, MOTHERv3 stated that the ban resulted from purchases and that she is appealing it.
They said that the violation occurred in purchases, putting in appeal right now.
