Born on December 23, 20023, Tobias James Smith or Tubbo is a popular English streamer known for his Minecraft streams.
Tobias James Smith, popularly known as Tubbo, is an English gaming YouTuber, musician, and Twitch streamer best known for his Minecraft collaborations. He was a member of Dream SMP, a prominent Minecraft server. The majority of his videos consist of clips from his Twitch streams.
He has been streaming on Twitch for over four years and became a partner in 2020, reaching one million Twitch followers on November 21, 2020. Currently, he has a whopping 5.2 million followers on his channel. In 2017, he created a YouTube channel called “Blue Turtle.” On that channel, he made Modded Minecraft Wars videos with his friends before discontinuing in October 2017. He also used the names “SuperManPower500,” “Spectrum_XP,” and “OrphicTubbo”—before settling on Tubbo.
Later he joined SMPEarth, a big Minecraft survival multiplayer server that closed in April 2020. He is infamous for being the only person on SMPEarth who was killed by an AFK player. However, Tubbo’s popularity skyrocketed after joining the Dream SMP, an invitation-only Minecraft survival multiplayer server, in 2020. He soon established himself as a key character on the server, frequently collaborating with other streamers such as TommyInnit and the server owner, Dream.

In the ongoing conflict between Minecraft content creators, Tubbo responded to Clay Dream’s recent clarification about his sharing of a meme that uses the word “ret**ted” to make fun of TommyInnit’s fans. In support of TommyInnit, Tubbo said that he used to “idealize” Dream and Wilbur Soot. He added that he cut them off because of his “integrity.”
“To say he has no backbone, just shows how you never f**king knew him as a person when you did know him… And if you did, it’s a stupid attempt to change his image. But he literally idolized Dream and he idolized Wilbur (Wilbur Soot), and when he found out how these people were as actual people. He cut them off because he has integrity and because he has a backbone. If you want to talk about no backbone, yeah! On the Dream SMP, there were some spineless a** creators. Yeah! Yeah! But Tom is not one of them. Tom is not one of them!”
Tubbo also discussed his personal experience on the Dream SMP Discord server, claiming that he had to deal with “uncomfortable” topics of discussion when he was younger. While discussing Dream referencing”double standards” in response to anger over the use of the R-word in his joke, Tubbo also revealed Dream’s previous violation of “personal boundaries” by contacting TommyInnit’s mother.
“I’ve had some gripes with certain inappropriate topic of conversation that happened in the Dream SMP Discord in like VCs and VC channels when I was younger, which at the time, made me quite uncomfortable but I was like, oh, this is just because I’m older now and I can be a part of these mature conversations. Now, I’m older and I look back at that… Rubs me the wrong way. It rubs me the wrong way. I think he just misunderstands why people dislike him. I dislike him for how he crossed personal boundaries and entered like personal circles of my friends in a closed-door environment, not on the internet, to get his own way…. I also have a problem with… when he messaged Tom’s mom after the ‘If YouTubers Were Honest…’ video came out… That’s a crazy betrayal of trust.”
