Everything you need to know about the English voice cast of the upcoming Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut, for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The announcement of Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut was quite a surprise for many RGG fans, especially considering its target platform, i.e., the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is essentially a remaster of the original Yakuza 0, with plenty of new additions and a major graphical overhaul. And recently, SEGA revealed the official English voice cast for the Director’s Cut. Unsurprisingly, some of the English voice cast from the last few Yakuza and Like a Dragon games will be reprising their roles in the remaster. The cast includes names like Matthew Mercer, who will reprise his role as Goro Majima from Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, as well as David Hayter as Osamu Kashiwagi.

The majority of the English voice cast for Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut are reprising their roles from the previous titles. For instance, Yong Yea, who played Kazuma Kiryu in Like a Dragon Gaiden and Infinite Wealth. Additionally, there are also some new names as well, who are debuting in the series with the remaster. Fans of the Yakuza series mostly tend to play the game with Japanese audio and subtitles. As such, the series never really had any reason to feature English audio. However, with the series now becoming more mainstream than ever before, having the option for English voiceover is always welcome. Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut Release Date and Platforms
Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut is scheduled to be released on June 5, 2025, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. As of the writing of this article, SEGA has not revealed any plans to release the remaster for other console platforms or PC. The game is currently available for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop. The Director’s Cut features 20+ minutes of new cutscenes and a brand-new Red Light Raid. The Red Light Raid is essentially a “horde mode” separate from the main story.
