How to Get Slicing Shortsword in BG3?
To get the Slicing Shortsword in BG3 you must find the bugbear merchant Lann Tarv on the main floor of Moonrise Towers in Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3. Furthermore to safely reach Moonrise Towers through the deadly Shadow Curse, you must first locate a Moonlantern. You can do this by traveling with the Absolute Convoy, which you find by reaching the Shadow Cursed Lands from the Mountain Pass.
After reaching the Tower, you’ll need to convince the guards that you’re a friend through dialogue checks. Once inside, Lann Tarv is located immediately to the right after entering the first open area of the main floor. Initially, he offers various items, such as the Slicing Shortsword and the Enraging Heart Garb. However, you can also unlock a secret inventory which includes items like the Dwarven Splintmail by speaking to Disciple Z’rell.
How to Use Slicing Shortsword in BG3?
To make the most of the Slicing Shortsword in Baldur’s Gate 3, equip it to a stealthy Rogue build. Rogues have a special class action called Sneak Attack (Melee), which allows you to deal extra damage with Finesse weapons.
Additionally, you should become adept at strategically positioning your character in places where they can’t be easily seen. Your Rogue can obscure themselves by moving to a shadowy area or partially getting behind an environmental object that breaks an enemy’s line of sight. Finally, your character is also considered obscured while they are crouching to hide. So long as you stay outside of an enemy’s red cone of visibility and remain hidden.
