The only time we saw him on screen, it put the fear of God in Muzan. Therefore, fans knew that he was quite important to the overall plot.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s presence could be felt even after his death. This is a result of well-utilized screen time. On the other hand, we have characters like Aoi who also receive similar amounts of screen time. However, her impact wasn’t all that high since there weren’t many feats to her name. Therefore, fans would love to see more of Yoriichi. It would be interesting to see an entire manga dedicated to this character.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s Personality in Demon Slayer
We have plenty of characters in the Shonen category who are incredibly powerful but also have a blood-lust that cannot be quenched — like King Bradley from Fullmetal Alchemist who showcases incredible power. As a consequence, such characters also have the urge to kill. However, Yoriichi Tsugikuni’s personality isn’t comparable to the likes of King Bradley. Yoriichi is quite gentle and calm. He doesn’t let his emotions dictate his actions. This is one reason why he is extremely proficient in fighting.
In combat, it is extremely important to keep your composure and not give in to emotions. Elevated emotions often lead to a lapse in judgment. Furthermore, the stakes in Demon Slayer are quite high. The accuracy of the moves might have been high, but the legendary swordsman’s execution would have been better, to say the least. Therefore, Yoriichi Tsugikuni would make a brilliant subject for a Demon Slayer spin-off series.
Yoriichi vs Muzan: A One-Sided Beatdown
The fight between Yoriichi and Muzan would be incredible to watch. The manga lacked a ton of details, and not much attention was paid to the fight. This isn’t particularly a problem, but fans certainly wanted to see more of Yoriichi. Furthermore, this goes to show that a clear opportunity has presented itself. This gives Koyoharu Gotouge plenty of creative freedom and explores this fight thoroughly. We know that this wasn’t particularly a fight as Muzan struggled and nearly died. If he hadn’t split his body into 1500 parts, he wouldn’t have survived.
He took plenty of time to regenerate and recover. Yoriichi was so good that Muzan was terrified of him centuries after his death. Such was the extent of his abilities. It would be interesting to get a closer look at Yoriichi Sun Breathing forms that were used against Muzan. Last but not least, fans will also get a glimpse of his fight against his brother Kokushibo, which is also where he dies.
