Among all the abnormal status ailments that you can get in Monster Hunter Wilds, Frostblight might be the most annoying. This is one of those conditions where you are rendered completely immobile, even if it is for one second. Timing is crucial, and unless you are very swift, you will likely suffer a lot of damage or potential faint because of this.

Removing Frostblight is easy but requires very swift action. In this article, we will explain how you can remove Frostblight in Monster Hunter Wilds. We will also explore some options that will prevent Frostblight altogether.

There are three ways to remove Frostblight in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Moving in any direction. Spam your movement controls to break out of the ice.
  • Use a Cleanser.
  • Take a hit.

As mentioned earlier, Frostblight renders you immobile because your feet will be stuck in ice. You could simply spam your movement buttons or controls to try and break out of the ice in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, this is an unreliable method since most monsters will manage to hit you before you can actually break out.

On the same lines, taking a hit will also remove Frostblight. This can be a hit from your Palico, or from the enemy. In case of the latter, you might often take heavy damage, especially if it’s a Jin Dahaad who is about to unleash a deadly attack.

The most reliable way to remove Frostblight in Monster Hunter Wilds is to use a Cleanser. This is an item that you can craft, and it requires the following ingredients:

  • Fire Herb
  • Godbug Essence

Combining one of each will result in one Cleanser. You can carry a maximum of 10 Cleansers during a fight in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How To Prevent Frostblight in Monster Hunter Wilds

There are two items that can prevent Blastblight in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Escape Jewel at level 3 (Decoration)
  • Escape Charm at level 3 (Talisman)

You can get the Escape Jewel as a random drop from monsters after defeating them. Since this is a random drop, there is no guarantee that any particular monster will drop it. Moreover, you will need to upgrade this decoration to level 3 for it to completely nullify Frostblight. At earlier levels, the Escape Jewel reduces the recovery time.

On the other hand, you must craft the Escape Charm from Gemma and then equip this talisman. The following items are needed to craft the Escape Charm in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Nerscylla Shell x1
  • Nerscylla Claw x2
  • Vespoid Shell x1
  • Earth Crystal x2

The Escape Charm fully negates Frostblight at level 3, so you must upgrade it to completely nullify the effects of this abnormal status ailment.

Frostblight is a condition in Monster Hunter Wilds where your hunter’s feet are frozen in place and you are unable to move. This mostly results from an ice-beam like attack, and the Hot Drink has no effect on its functioning.

There are three monsters in Wilds that can inflict you with Frostblight:

  • Jin Dahaad
  • Hirabami
  • Blangonga

For Hirabami and Blangonga, both the Frenzied and Tempered variants also apply this status on you. On the other hand, Jin Dahaad does not appear in a Frenzied form yet. That said, its Tempered form does apply Frostblight in Monster Hunter Wilds.
