Where To Find Barnacled Dread in Sea of Thieves?
The first way of finding the Barnacled Dread is how you’d find any normal Megalodon—through thorough exploration. You may stumble across this creature while exploring the vast seas, or it may stumble across you, attacking your ship. While this is a way to find the creature, it relies heavily on chance.
The more sure-fire way of finding the Barnacled Dread is by reaching Hunter’s Call Emissary Grade 5. Once you reach this level, the Barnacled Dread will then be marked on your map, represented by a purple shark icon. Sail to this location to find the Barnacled Dread.
How To Defeat the Barnacled Dread in Sea of Thieves
As you approach the Barnacled Dread, the first thing that will immediately catch your eye is the coral armor that covers its body. If you wish to deal any damage, you first need to break through the armor. Approach the creature and fire a barrage of cannons at it until the armor breaks, revealing glowing scars on its body. These glowing scars are its weak spots. Keep damaging these spots to chip away at its HP.
Every now and then, the Megalodon will attempt to ram your boat. If it does so successfully, it will board enemies onto your ship. Deal with these Ocean Crawlers quickly and focus your attention on the creature once again. Damage its weak spots to clinch victory.
