The game will introduce the charms or talisman system to you after you complete the first chapter and proceed to Chapter 2-1 on a mission named ‘Toward Fervent Fields.’ You will need to talk to Gemma to find out about charms and their functionalities. At this point in the story, charm crafting and upgrades will become possible and a crucial aspect of character progression.

Whenever you want to craft a charm, you will need to bring the required raw materials to Gemma’s smithy. Each charm will need distinct materials to create. For instance, Poison Charm I, which grants poison resistance, will require you to bring 1x Rompopolo Beak, 1x Monster Fluid, and 2x Rompopolo Claw to the smithy. You will also have to spend 500 Zenny to forge this particular charm.

You will have to source the materials to make different charms by exploring the world or slaying monsters for parts. However, you can also upgrade each charm to increase their levels. In doing so, you will also improve the stat boost or effect of that specific charm.
