In this guide, we shall go over the Giant’s Rage ability in Baldur’s Gate 3 and discuss the best ways to use this new passive ability.

Baldur’s Gate 3 puts player choice and freedom up front and center, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the choice of classes available to you. BG3 is now expanding upon the classes with several new subclasses, all of which come with their perks and quirks that make them unique. The Barbarian class’ new Giants subclass is one that has many players intrigued with its abilities.
The Giants subclass is a new Barbarian subclass that amplifies your strength greatly. Rage is one of the primary abilities of the Barbarian class and carries over to the new subclass. Rage is an action that further amplifies your strength, letting you deal extra damage with melee attacks and by throwing items.
The Giant’s Rage is a passive ability exclusive to the Path of Giants subclass that builds upon this concept. If you’re playing a character from the Path of the Giants subclass and have no knowledge of the Giant’s Rage ability, we’re here to help you out. In this guide, we shall go over the Giant’s Rage ability in Baldur’s Gate 3 and discuss how it works.

As stated earlier, the Giant’s Rage is a passive ability exclusive to the Giant subclass that falls under the Barbarian class. This passive ability builds upon the Rage actions of the class, greatly increasing your strength and the damage of your throws. It increases your size by one category, making you a formidable force to be dealt with in battle. It also grants an advantage during Strength Checks and Saving Throws. To sum it up: Enter rage, and you will increase in size while dealing extra damage on Throw attacks.
Keeping the aforementioned in mind, we recommend sticking to a throw build. Stick to using Throw as your main action will result in higher damage in that state. Furthermore, if you hold the background of a Soldier, then expect to see great results. Amplify all of this with the feat Tavern Brawler, which will double your thrown weapon strength modifier to attack rolls.
Much like standard Rage, the Giant’s Rage only lasts for a duration of 10 turns. You will exit the Rage state if you don’t deal or take damage every turn, meaning you need to use your character consistently to make the most out of the stats. Therefore, aggression is of the utmost importance when in this state.
