Minecraft is a vast sandbox title with countless methods to show your imagination. However, there is also the survival and adventure aspect of this title that many players adore. With the ability to explore a near-infinite world, many might think that this game is endless, but there is an end. But how do you reach it?

To help you out, here’s a simple guide to help you reach the End and beat Minecraft.

Humble Beginnings in Minecraft

When you first spawn in a world, you must think about survival. Beating Minecraft isn’t an easy task, after all. Head to the nearest tree, cut it down, make wooden blocks, and create a Crafting Table. The Crafting Table is one of your most important items, as it allows you to craft just about anything in the game. Make a wooden pickaxe and start mining down to collect Cobblestone.

With Cobblestone, create a set of stone tools. Keep mining down, and you will eventually find Iron Ore. Mine as much as you can to forge a set of Iron Tools and Iron Armor. Keep any Coal that you find; there is plenty underground, but you might run out when you need it.

Come up to the surface and start hunting local wildlife. Cows are the best since steaks provide the most satiation. Satiation is the value you gain from eating something in Minecraft. Pork chops from pigs and cooked chicken from chickens are good too. With a set of Iron Tools, Iron Armor, and food, you are prepared for the Nether.

Traversing the Nether in Minecraft

The Nether is the second dimension in Minecraft, following the Overworld. To access the Nether, you must create a Nether Portal, which requires Obsidian. To break Obsidian, you need diamonds to craft a Diamond Pickaxe. This is an ideal time to mine underground and gather as many diamonds as possible. Aim to collect a total of 34 diamonds to craft a complete set of Diamond armor and tools.

Once you have enough food and protection, construct the Nether Portal and travel to the Nether. Your goal is to locate a Nether Fortress to find Blaze Spawners. Blazes drop Blaze Rods, which can be converted into Blaze Powder at a Crafting Table. Bring a substantial number of blocks to traverse the lava lakes. It is advisable to stay close to the ceiling to evade most hostile mobs near the surface.

The Nether can be a harsh environment, and locating a Nether Fortress can be challenging. You might have to spend hours searching before finding one. Consider increasing your render distance in the settings to enhance your visibility. Fortunately, Nether Fortresses are large structures, making them difficult to overlook. Once you find one, locate the Blaze Spawner and defeat some Blazes. Use a shield to block their fireball attacks, and strike back with your sword or axe.

Going to the End in Minecraft

Now that you have Blaze Powder, craft at least 16 Eyes of Ender. For that, you need to combine Blaze Powder with Ender Pearls. Ender Pearls drop from Endermen; the best way to farm them is in the Warped Forest biome in the Nether. Craft the Eye of Ender and locate a Stronghold. Complete the End Portal at the Stronghold to create a pathway to the End dimension.

Before jumping in, we recommend gearing up heavily. This is what we recommend taking with you:

  • Full set of enchanted Diamond Armor
  • An enchanted Diamond Sword and Pickaxe
  • A bow and three stacks of arrows
  • At least five stacks of stone blocks
  • Two buckets of water
  • As many Golden Apples as you can craft
  • A few Ender Pearls

With these, you can challenge the Ender Dragon, the final boss of Minecraft. Jump into the End Portal and start digging towards the large roaring noise. Soon, you can find yourself in the Ender Dragon arena. There are quite a few things you need to do before even starting to damage the Ender Dragon.

Destroy all the End Crystals on top of the Obsidian Towers. The crystals constantly heal the dragon, so each one has to be destroyed. Some are even guarded by iron cages that you have to climb up and break. Do not stand close to the End Crystals when breaking them, as they explode and deal high amounts of damage.

After destroying all the End Crystals, shoot the Ender Dragon with your bow while it’s in the air. Keep shooting it, and eventually it will perch in the middle of the arena. Make sure to be on the bedrock platform before it lands; otherwise, it will push you away. After it lands, you can deal high amounts of damage with your sword by hitting the dragon’s head. Keep repeating this to vanquish the Ender Dragon.

After you beat the Ender Dragon, it will come to the middle of the arena and burst out in experience orbs. You can now jump into the Bedrock platform, which now has a portal back to the Overworld. This triggers a credit roll, and you have officially beaten Minecraft. You are teleported to the world spawn after this. You can again visit the End to get the Elytra, which allows you to fly.
