Illusion trainers in Oblivion Remastered help boost your skill with their expertise, ranging from basic to master level.

Illusion is a versatile school of magic in Oblivion Remastered, with spells that can save players a lot of time and effort. Whether you want to use Charm to raise a character’s disposition to progress a quest or Invisibility to bypass hordes of enemies, increasing the Illusion skill is necessary.
Trainers are experts within their own fields who can train the player and level up their respective skills. The higher the skill level that needs to be trained, the more it will cost. Compared to other schools of magic, Illusion has fewer trainers to be found across Cyrodiil.
Every Illusion Trainer in Oblivion Remastered

The Bravil Mages Guild specializes in Illusion Magic, but no one there can provide basic or advanced training to an aspiring illusionist. Instead, Kud-Ei at the guild only takes in students for master training. A trainer with basic training in Illusion can level you up to 40. Beyond that, you have to seek out someone more skilled in the art.
Advanced-level trainers can increase your skill to level 70. Here is a list of all the Illusion magic trainers in Oblivion Remastered and where they can be found:
Trainer | Location | Skill Level |
---|---|---|
Esbern | Great Chapel of Arkay in Cheydinhal | Basic (0-40) |
Jantus Brolus | Istrius Brolus’ house in Bruma | Basic (0-40) |
Carahil | Anvil Mages Guild | Advanced (0-70) |
Martina Floria | Arcane University’s Chironasium | Master (71-100) |
To unlock master-level Illusion training, you can speak with Martina Floria or Kud-Ei at Bravil Mages Guild and start the ‘Illusion Training’ quest. The quest involves collecting 10 Welkynd Stones and handing them over to the master illusionist. Welkynd Stones can be commonly found within Ayleid ruins.
How To Improve Illusion Spells in Oblivion Remastered
Personality is the governing attribute behind Illusion spells. However, leveling up personality does not lead to an increase in the potency of Illusion spells. Having a high Personality attribute does have its own rewards, such as enjoying an inflated disposition with most NPCs, and even turning hostile NPCs neutral.
However, this means you can only improve the effectiveness of Illusion spells by levelling up the skill itself. This makes trainers even more important for mages looking to increase Illusion. Here are some other methods to increase or buff Illusion:
- Turning into a Vampire provides an Illusion skill boost.
- Illusion skill books provide lessons that improve the skill when read.
- The Shrouded and Black Hand Armor set worn by Dark Brotherhood members can fortify Illusion by 16 points in total.
- The Ayleid Crown of Lindai increases Illusion by 15 points. The light helmet artifact is found during the Secrets of the Ayleids quest in the ruins of Lindai.
