DOOM The Dark Ages: What Are Life Sigils?

DOOM The Dark Ages has a wide variety of difficulty settings, and you might just end up facing a very steep challenge. Some of the difficulty settings have special modifiers, which automatically make the game significantly harder. Although the Slayer is an expert in killing demons and all sorts of beasts, you might fall once or twice in battle. Bosses and mobs can be ruthless, and they can easily overpower you at times.

With the exception of the Ultra-Nightmare special difficulty mode, you can use Life Sigils to get another chance in battle. In this article, we will explain what Life Sigils are in DOOM The Dark Ages and how you can use them.

How To Use Life Sigils in DOOM The Dark Ages

If you have at least one Life Sigil, a prompt will automatically appear to use it when you die in DOOM The Dark Ages. There is no way to manually use a Life Sigil to refill your health. You will only get the option to use it after death.

After you die, you will be prompted to use a Life Sigil and continue the fight. You can choose not to use it, which will send you back to the last checkpoint instead. Using a Life Sigil in DOOM The Dark Ages will restore you to full health immediately, and you will be able to continue the fight from where you left. 

However, if you are playing the game on Pandemonium difficulty setting, Life Sigils function differently. Similar to the normal modes, you will be able to use a Life Sigil once you die. However, Life Sigils will allow you to restart the entire mission from the very beginning. Moreover, if you run out of Life Sigils in this game mode, your entire campaign will fail and you must start anew from Chapter 1.

How To Get Life Sigils

You do not normally spawn with Life Sigils, and you need to find them in the open world instead. Each chapter in DOOM The Dark Ages has several secrets that you can uncover. Life Sigils count as secrets, and you can carry at most three of these at any given point in time.
