The Ballistic Force Crossbow, or BFC, is a weapon that you get in the middle stages of the game. It is easily the most powerful weapon in the game, capable of even one-shotting mob bosses (but not champion bosses).
Owing to its very limited ammunition, the BFC is more of a pinch hitter than a standard weapon. It can clear out hordes in a decent AoE as well, making it very good for demon vanquishing. How To Get the Ballistic Force Crossbow in Doom The Dark Ages
You will get the Ballistic Force Crossbow (BFC) in Chapter 14, Spire of Nerathul, while playing Doom The Dark Ages. You unlock this weapon as a part of the storyline, and you will first use it on a mounted structure to awaken The Old One. Following this, the Slayer will pry out this weapon from its mount and add it to his arsenal permanently. Initially, you will only be able to carry three arrows for the Ballistic Force Crossbow. As you progress through the story, this count will later increase to four.
How To Get Ammunition for the Ballistic Force Crossbow (BFC)
Like other weapons, you can find ammunition for the Ballistic Force Crossbow in the open world of Doom The Dark Ages. However, it is much rarer, and you will struggle to find them normally. Owing to this, the Slayer cannot use his shield while using this weapon. The BFC has a special slot that you can access by pressing one button (V on PC).
The Ballistic Force Crossbow (BFC) has the highest amount of firepower among all weapons in Doom The Dark Ages. It can take out groups of mob bosses easily with a single strike, and its attack has a medium-sized AoE as well. However, since it has limited ammunition, you should only use it in dire scenarios.
If there are multiple boss enemies that you need to kill, or you have low health, then the BFC is a great weapon that can save you in a second. It is especially useful during morale encounters, where the hordes of enemies can be wiped out easily with this weapon. However, if you use it to hit an enemy who is very close, you might be caught in its AoE, which will, in turn, damage you as well.
