Why Should You Play Void Hunter in PVP?
PVP Void Hunter is a powerful combination of damage and survivability. The object of the subclass is to utilize our melee and dodge to gain invisibly and make it harder for our enemies to track our movements. This subclass is enjoyable, straightforward, and can be played with any playstyle while being effective. Find out all the details on how to craft, create, and optimize our Void Hunter PVP Build.
Destiny 2 Void Hunter PVP Build
The following list presents all the essential Void Hunter PVP Build Mechanics and Features in Destiny 2:
- Subclass: Void
- Primary Stat: Mobility
- Super: Shadowshot: Deadfall
- Class Ability: Gambler’s Dodge
- Jump: Strafe Jump
- Grenade: Void Spike
- Melee: Snare Bomb
- Aspects: Trapper’s Ambush, Vanishing Step

Abilities
The best abilities for the Void Hunter PVP Build are Snare Bomb, Void Spike, and Shadowshot: Deadfall. The Snare Bomb can be used for invisibility or to throw off the enemy’s radars and blind enemies who get too close to it. The Void Spike grenade is powerful for finishing targets hiding behind walls or around corners. Lastly, our Deadfall super can suppress enemies which disables their super and weakens them.
Shadowshot: Deadfall – This super tether enemies caught inside together, suppressing and weakening them
Gambler’s Dodge – Activating this dodge while in close proximity to enemies will give you your melee ability back. It also makes ourselves harder to hit while dodging
Strafe Jump – A higher single jump with strong directional control makes this jump a must have for PvP
Void Spike – Sticks to a surface dealing void damage to anyone caught inside
Snare Bomb – Throw this melee to ping enemy radars until they get close enough to trigger it
The most important ability we are using is our Gambler’s Dodge. Since it provides us with invisibility and if we are close enough to our enemies it will give us a melee charge. Secondly, our Snare Bomb melee is our second access to invisibility and can be utilized to make our whole team invisible. Lastly, the Deadfall tether super flinches enemies, shares damage between enemies caught inside, and weakens them. Also, this super is great for shutting down enemies in their super by suppressing them when they walk in range.
Aspects
The best aspects to use with our Void Hunter PVP Build are Vanishing Step and Trapper’s Ambush. The Vanishing Step provides invisibility when you use our dodge class ability. Also, Trapper’s Ambush allows us to dive to the ground and deploy invisibility for any nearby enemies.
Vanishing Step – This buffs our super and also gives us a melee back if we kill an enemy while radiant, basically allowing us to have constant melees
Trapper’s Ambush – This gives a handling and reload buff after getting a precision kill or max stacks when we use our dodge
Both of our Aspects, Vanishing Step and Trapper’s Ambush, are essential with this build since they both provide invisibility making it incredibly hard for our enemies to keep track of us on the battlefield.
Fragments
The best fragments for our Void Hunter PVP Build are the Echo of Dilation, Echo of Persistence, Echo of Vigilance, and Echo of Starvation. These provide us with an improved radar, extend our subclass class buff timers, and provide additional survivability with overshields.
Echo of Dilation : While crouched, we gain in increased radar and sneak faster.
Echo of Persistence : Increases the duration of devour, overshields, and invisibility
Echo of Vigilance : Killing an enemy while low health gives us an overshield
Echo of Starvation : Picking up an orb of power grants devour
Echo of Starvation and Echo of Vigilance provide us with survivability by healing us on kills and providing an overshield after eliminating a target while at low health. Echo of Persistence increases the timers for our void buffs. Lastly, Echo of Dilation gives us increased radar and movement while crouching.
Weapons for Void Hunter PVP Build
The best weapon combination with the VoidHunter PVP Build is an Igneous Hammerand Conditional Finality. Since these provide the best utility for both good close-range and mid-range engagements. Also, Hand Cannon and Shotgun is one of the highest skill gap weapon combinations and is often preferred by veteran players or those participating in high levels of PVP content.
Weapon Combinations
Below are some additional weapon combinations for our Void Hunter PVP Build:
- Hand Cannon & Fusion Rifle- Best for good aimers
- Submachine Gun & Sniper Rifle- Best for aggressive players
- Pulse Rifle and Shotgun- Best for passive players
If you wish to run a different weapon combination, we highly recommend at least running a primary ammo weapon and a special ammo weapon. Running two special weapons will limit your ammo and is not functional. Even though utilizing two primary weapons is doable, you will be at a massive disadvantage due to the strength of special ammo weapons.
Hand Cannon & Fusion Rifle
While not as iconic as the hand cannon and shotgun meta that ruled Destiny 2 for many years, the hand cannon and fusion rifle combo is a lethal pairing. You gain the benefit of both mid-range engagements with your hand cannon and close-range bursts with your fusion rifle. This combination is especially powerful for guardians who like the high skill gap of Hand Cannons while providing an easier-to-use special weapon with the Fusion Rifle.
Submachine Gun & Sniper Rifle
With both close-range and long-range engagements taken care of with this pairing, however, it is recommended to play very aggressively with this combination. With a submachine gun, you are lethal at close ranges allowing you to contest most weapons within short range. A sniper rifle allows you to clear a lane and push up towards your enemies.
Pulse Rifle & Shotgun
This pairing allows for both long-range and close-range to be secured. Pulse Rifles can out-range most hand cannons while providing a very easy-to-use weapon so they work well with more passive players. Shotguns provide one-shot potential when getting rushed by enemy players that push your position.
Exotic Armor for Void Hunter PVP Build
The best exotic armors for Void Hunter PVP Build are Knucklehead Radar and ST0MP-EE5. Within PVP, the best exotics are often neutral exotics that work without requirements like a specific subclass or build synergy.
Often, movement and passive exotics are preferred over exotics that require a specific gameplay loop to be effective as these can be hard to maintain in a PVP environment. So Exotics like Knuckhead Radar and ST0MP-EES are great because they provide massive passive benefits like movement and constant radar without needing outside assistance from abilities or builds. For example, Knucklehead Radar provides radar and minimap even while aiming down sights, visually marks targets, provides extra damage to low-health marked targets, and provides a small boost in airborne effectiveness of all weapons. Also, ST0MP-EE5 increases your sprint speed and slide distance, improves your jumps, and gives a slight boost in damage reduction while airborne.
Armor Stats
The best stats to focus on in our Void Hunter PVP Build are Mobility, Intellect, and Recovery. Since these provide us with survivability, reduce our class ability cooldown, and reduce our super cooldown.
- Mobility: 100
- Resilience: 30
- Recovery: 100
- Disciple: 50
- Intellect: 50
- Strength: 50
Armor Mods
The best armor mods for our Void Hunter PVP Build are Targeting Mods, Dexterity Mods, and Unflinching Mods. Since these build into how well our weapons perform in combat, they are of the highest priority.
Slot | Mod | Mod | Mod |
Head | Arc Targeting | – | Kinetic Targeting |
Arms | Fastball | Kinetic Dexterity | Arc Dexterity |
Chest | Unflinching Kinetic Aim | Unflinching Arc Aim | – |
Legs | Recuperation | Innervation | Orbs of Restoration |
Class | Reaper | Bomber | Bomber |
While we have kinetic weapon mods and arc weapon mods, you should adjust these depending on your weapon choices. So make sure to swap these mods to match your weapon energy types.
Gameplay Tips
This Void Hunter PVP Build is about using our abilities to go invisible allowing us to get the flank on enemies. Our kit is designed around moving about the battlefield taking engagements that are favorable to us. Our melee and dodge provide us invisibility keeping enemies guessing of our locations. Also, our melee is fantastic for placing near cover to ping the enemy’s radars while we maneuver elsewhere. With our grenade, we gain the ability to finish off enemies hiding around corners or behind shield by sticking it to a wall nearby.
Our weapons and base abilities aren’t the only powerful weapons in the kit. Our super is fantastic knock enemy guardians out of their super or shut down entire lanes from enemies. Enemies caught inside of the super have their camera jerked upwards, and are suppressed and weakened.
