As you progress further in Dune Awakening, your inventory and storage will be filled with miscellaneous items. Many of your early-game gear and weapons will become obsolete, and you will get more powerful ones. Instead of simply discarding them, you can recycle them using a specific device called ‘Recycler’.

It salvages an item and returns some of its component materials. Since repairing and storing every piece of gear can lead to clutter, recycling is an ideal and efficient solution. This guide explains how to recycle items in Dune Awakening using a Recycler.

To recycle items, you must first construct a Recycler at your base. You can unlock the Recycler schematic by researching it. You can find the schematic at the Copper Products under Construction in the Research tab. Once you research the schematic, you can build the Recycler at your base from the build menu using the Construction Tool. You will need 30 Copper Ingots to build a Recycler.

How To Use a Recycler in Dune Awakening

The Recycler allows you to salvage items and retrieve some of its core components. The materials you receive depend on the quality and condition of the item. However, to recycle an item, the item must be in your inventory. Once a Recycler is placed in your base, interact with it to use it. Place unwanted or unused items from your inventory into the Recycler. Pressing the Recycle Item option immediately salvages the item. You can collect the salvaged components from the output slots on the right side.

Recycling is an effective approach to clear out space while retrieving valuable materials. It allows you to retain some key components like Plasteel Microflora Fiber and even rare parts for high-quality items. You can then use these materials to craft new weapons, gears, and useful items.
