Dig up some old Buried Treasure from beneath the sands of Arakkis in Dune Awakening by following this simple guide.
The Buried Treasure quest introduces the players of Dune Awakening to a new activity. It is all about letting you take some risks to go out of your way, explore the dangerous sands, and obtain some treasure. This “treasure” can be absolutely priceless or completely worthless to you, based on your requirements.
However, usually it pays off, especially in the early game when you lack everything. Even though an entire quest is dedicated to this side activity, it doesn’t explain the process very well.
Searching for the Buried Treasure in Dune Awakening
The “Buried Treasure” quest starts in the Vermillius Gap region of the map. You won’t be able to get to the treasure hunt unless you complete the Second Trial of Aql. The latter is part of the Find the Fremen questline. Now, completing the second Aql trial is important because it grants you access to the Handheld Scanner and Static Compactor. Both these tools come in handy when looking for the buried treasure in Dune Awakening.
When going looking for treasure, undoubtedly, you will have to arrive at the seemingly endless sand dunes. First, use your Handheld Resource Scanner to point at the sands and scan for existing anomalies. Any item of interest buried in the sand will get marked with a diamond icon. Don’t expect to be successful on your first try, though. Keep trying, and you will eventually mark something useful. Walk up to the marked location on the ground and interact using your Static Compactor.
After waiting for a few moments, it should clear the sand to reveal a container. This is the “buried treasure” that you were looking for all this while. The cache may reward you with some Solaris or exciting new gear. But as we mentioned earlier, it might just give you an ore that you don’t really need or already have in ample quantity on you. Another big risk that you will be taking while going treasure hunting among dunes is of the giant sandworms, who are actively hostile towards the players. So, calculate your risks and needs before digging up buried treasure in Dune Awakening.
