The world of Dune Awakening feels both familiar and unfamiliar. There is no Paul Atreides here, the Fremen have vanished, and House Atreides is locked in full-blown war with the Harkonnen. Yet some things never change. Arrakis remains the deadly desert planet you’ve always known it to be. The sands still need no excuse to swallow you whole, and death is very much in the atmosphere. Above all else, Spice is still the sought-after resource in the universe.

We don’t have to go into detail over the wars fought over Spice in the Dune lore. One look at the game’s crafting list will make Spice stand out on its own. It’s a crucial crafting resource that helps you craft some of the most powerful items in-game. The items you can craft with Spice include Advanced Particulate Filter, Ambition, Adaptive Holtzman Shield, Albatross Wing Module Mk6, Assault Ornithopter Cockpit Mk6, Assault Ornithopter Engine Mk6, Buggy Rocket Launcher Mk6, and much more.

If you’re a solo player trying to farm Spice solo, you’ve likely run into sandworms ruining your parade. We have a fix for that. In this guide, we shall go over how to farm spice solo in Dune Awakening.

You farm Spice by tracking the Spice explosion clouds. These are smoke trails, which are purple in color and lead you to Spice. While these are available in abundance, we recommend looking for them in the Deep Desert. Head over to the Deep Desert by going to the Western/Eastern Shield Wall. Here, you can cross the blue barrier and enter the World Map, which you can use to travel to the Deep Desert.

Once you’re in the desert, look for the purple Spice clouds. Enter the area and use your compactor gadget to pull the Spice out of the sand. While you can also do this in the regular areas, we advise against it due to the sandworms. In regular areas, the sandworms react to the compactor and spawn within 20 seconds. In the Deep Desert, you have a good three minutes before a worm attacks you, making the Deep Desert the best solo Spice farm spot.
