The Death Stranding 2 review embargo date is almost upon us, with the sequel set to release later next week. Anyone who remembers the launch of the first title would recollect that Death Stranding received a polarising reception from critics and users alike. While the experiences in the COVID-19 pandemic may have significantly impacted how players perceive DS1, the community is eagerly waiting to hear what reviewers have to say about Death Stranding 2: On The Beach and, of course, dive into it themselves.

When is Death Stranding 2 Review Embargo Date?

The Death Stranding 2 review embargo ends on June 23, 2025, at 5 am PDT / 8 am EDT / 1 pm BST. The review embargo will then precede the game’s early access coming live. Death Stranding 2 provides 48 hours of early access to players who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition. It is due to start on June 24.

As we already know, many reviewers have already gotten access to the game, courtesy of Kojima Productions. So they must be playing the game currently. Reviewers like @GameRiotArmy confirmed the review embargo end date. As with any other game, players shouldn’t simply get swayed by reviews when it comes to Death Stranding (or any other Hideo Kojima game), but rather check out the premise, the platform performance, and then decide whether they wish to commit to the experience.

To truly enjoy DS2 to the fullest, we do advise that you play and complete Death Stranding 1’s main story beforehand. Many of the sequel’s star-studded cast are returnees from the first title, whose motivations and nuances may not be readily apparent to someone who hasn’t played DS1.
