Death Stranding 2: How To Rescue Animals

Rescuing animals in Death Stranding 2 is a fun aspect that will have you scampering after wild animals in Australia. With everything going on in the world after the Death Stranding phenomenon, wild animals are rare. When you come across them, you can capture and rescue them, provided you have unlocked the Animal Shelter in-game.

How To Capture and Rescue Animals in Death Stranding 2

In Death Stranding 2 Mission 15, you will be tasked with delivering the Test Subject Kangaroo to the Animal Shelter. Once you successfully complete this objective, you can capture and bring any wild animal you encounter to the Animal Shelter for them to keep it safe and secure in their reserve.

How To Capture Wild Animals in Death Stranding 2

You will have to press Square when the prompt appears as you get close enough to a wild animal in Death Stranding 2. 

This is easier said than done, as some animals, like a kangaroo or an emu, will run off as soon as you get close. You can choose to crouch and slowly walk toward your target, hoping it doesn’t notice you before you get close enough. Later on, when you unlock the Sneaking Boots, putting them on may help as well.

Can You Revisit Rescued Animals in Death Stranding 2?

You will find your rescued animals around the Animal Shelter. Step out of the building, take a slight left, and walk out onto the grass. You can use the Odradek scanner to identify the animals.

Can You Carry Rescued Animals on DHV Magellan for Fast Travel?

No, DHV Magellan will not carry any living cargo. If you are rescuing any animal, you will have to make the long walk to the Animal Shelter.
