There is no shortage of threats and hazards in Death Stranding 2. The sequel not only introduces dynamic gameplay changes but also brings stronger and powerful enemies. Gunfights play a much bigger role in Death Stranding 2 than in the first game. More shootouts also mean more ammo consumption. While you can restock the ammo for all your weapons while entering the Private Rooms, an extended journey through dangerous zones can still leave you short on ammo during combat.

Emptying your whole magazine during mid-fight can put you in a serious situation, especially against powerful enemies. Thankfully, several methods allow you to carry extra ammo by increasing your ammo capacity in Death Stranding 2. Here is how it works.

The most effective way to increase your ammo capacity is by fabricating the Spare Ammo Container backpack attachment. This attachment allows Sam to carry additional ammo for all of his weapons. Each Spare Ammo Container attached to your backpack lets you fire one extra load. Equipping multiple Spare Ammo Containers increases the ammo capacity further, allowing Sam to fire extra rounds. Your extra load amount depends on the number of Spare Ammo Containers you have equipped. You can craft a Spare Ammo Container using 30x Resins, 30x Metals, and 30x Chermicals using the Delivery Terminal at any facility.

Carrying weapons with the same ammo type is another way to carry extra ammo, as it allows you to fire more rounds overall. As you progress through the game, you will unlock higher-level weapons that come with high ammo capacity. Fabricating and equipping these weapons increases your ammo capacity.

In dire situations, you can also pick up weapons dropped by enemies to stay armed and defend yourself.
