In this guide, we shall go over how to play the Rock Paper Scissors sign-based minigame in Death Stranding 2.

The original Death Stranding kicked off a saga based on the theme of connection. The story dives deep into this very theme, and the catastrophic events that follow when Sam attempts to reconnect parts of the world. Death Stranding 2 follows through with these events, and takes the theme of connection an amusing step forward with Rock Paper Scissors.
Death Stranding 2 is a single-player game, but it incorporates a ton of social elements in its game. You often see cargo dropped by other players, which you can then deliver in their stead. You can also aid other players, and the Death Stranding 2’s version of Rock Paper Scissors builds on these very unseen social elements by letting you play the game with other players.
Playing Rock Paper Scissors with other players is one of the more fun activities in Death Stranding 2, and brings a much-needed change of pace to the game’s high-stakes story. If you’re looking to play Rock Paper Scissors with another player but don’t know how, keep reading below to learn how.

To play Rock Paper Scissors in Death Stranding 2, you need to first construct and plant a Rock Paper Scissors sign in the game. As you go about exploring the world, you’ll find similar signs placed by other players.
Simply walk up to any of the Rock Paper Scissors signs planted by other players, and then press down on your D-Pad. This will bring up a list of signs you can construct. Select the Rock Paper Scissors option, which is the second one when circling anticlockwise. Plant the sign next to the other player’s, and then press the Square key.
Once you initiate the game of Rock Paper Scissors, the signs will then randomly assign you a hand in the game. You could get any of Rock, Paper, or Scissors, and the same will be assigned to the other player. You know the rest of the rules of the game, and you’ll win or lose based on RNG. There’s nothing to gain or lose in this little game, and it is meant for fun.
