Ghost of Yotei: Can You Change Horse Cam?

The Horse Cam is a brand-new feature in Ghost of Yotei, and it is currently dividing the gaming community.

The Horse Cam is a new feature in Ghost of Yotei that was notably absent from the first game. Atsu may be a deadly mercenary, but she will need a trusty steed to get her from point A to point B in Ezo. Riding on horseback is the primary mode of transportation, given the setting, and it makes the most sense while also allowing you to look good in the field.

However, not everyone is a fan of this new feature, and the worst part is that there is no way to disable this cinematic mode. The black bars may look cool, but they are not the most practical for a huge open-world game.

At the start of the game, Atsu will be riding on horseback to her home, and players will notice that the aspect ratio changes automatically. This is a new horse cam implemented in the sequel that gives you a much more cinematic ride to your next objective. While it does look cool and impressive, it will be a nuisance for some.

After checking the new settings system, there is no way to disable this feature. It seems that this is how Sucker Punch Productions intended traversal to be in Ghost of Yotei, adding something different from Ghost of Tsushima. Other players have reported that it does not happen all the time when they are riding on horseback. This could be a case-by-case situation where the aspect ratio adjusts when Atsu is riding in an open field or between quests.

Perhaps after hearing enough requests, the developers might update the game with an option to disable the horse cam. Until then, you will have to get used to the aspect ratio changing by itself as you explore the lands of Ezo.
