The Arcana Cards in Hades 2 are buffs that you unlock first in the game. These cards will provide a lot of buffs and extra lives to Melinoe, giving her ways to progress further into difficult levels and the endgame. You can only have a set number of cards during a run, limited by the amount of grasp.
So, there are various combos that you can use depending on the Aspect you use. Here we list down the five best Arcana Cards to use for almost every run.
5 Best Arcana Cards for Your Run in Hades 2
All the cards mentioned are supposed to be fully upgraded, with you also having a max Grasp of 30. These Arcana Cards can be unlocked early into the game, with the one exception of The Fates. You can adjust your loadout based on what Aspect you like the best, and these Arcana Cards are generally recommended for every Aspect in the game, as they provide direct buffs to boons, lives, and re-rolls. These cards give you a better probability of getting through the entire game.
1. Death
This should be one of the first cards in the game you should grind for. Death provides +3 lives every run, making the game less punishing and letting you play more daringly. You can progress much further into the game with this Arcana, and Death Defiances can be gained with boons from Echo, Charon, and Athena. Plus, if you have unlocked pets, Toula also provides one additional pet to give an edge. This card should always be on your loadouts, even if it costs 4 Grasp to equip.
The returns are extra lives and less depending on what boons you get during a run. You can replace this card with Strength, which provides you with more damage given and less damage taken with fewer Death Defiances later on.
2. Persistence
Persistence provides +50 Health and Magic that benefits you in every part of the game. Even though the Arcana only comes at a cost of two Grasp, some heavy magic builds might want to skip this, as the glass cannon builds help Melinoe max out her damage while remaining at normal HP. However, for players that generally want more tankiness, Persistence will go a long way, even on max Fear. Although that depends on player skill of not getting hit too often.
3. Origination
With Origination equipped, you’ll deal +63% damage to enemies with two or more curses from different Gods. This Arcana Card is a must-have for any loadout, as it buffs your damage output for a very simple condition. Although, the two or more curses will have to originate from different Gods, even if the status afflicted is different.
4. The Fates
The Fates is a late-game Arcana Card that will let you get a better RNG for more curated runs. This card provides you with +4 rerolls, and the endgame will leave you with 10 (all reroll upgrades and buffs) if you have this equipped. Even considering its high cost and activation condition, your late-game runs can be manipulated to suit your loadouts and build. This makes the game far easier and, on some builds, elementary.
5. The Swift Runner
The Swift Runner increases your sprint speed by 13% and lets you pass through most enemies in the game. This Arcana’s cost of only one grasp has incredible returns, as you can dash through large mobs and bosses without taking damage. This makes it one of the most cost-efficient cards that do a lot without directly affecting Melinoe.
