Oni’s Breath Inn in Ghost of Yotei is a side quest that you’ll encounter in the first chapter of the game. In it, you’ll infiltrate Oni’s Breath Inn in search of information about the Yotei Six. To do that, Atsu will need to solve a few riddles first. However, things turn ugly soon enough, and she will have to fight her way out. How To Begin Oni’s Breath Inn in Ghost of Yotei

You can start this side quest almost immediately after reaching Ishikari Plain, as part of the main quest, The Oni. Once you’re in this region, head toward the Oni’s Breath Inn. There, you’ll run into an NPC guarding the doors to the inn. He’ll stop Atsu from entering if she doesn’t have a mask on.

By this point in the game, you should already have some masks in your possession. Wearing any one of them works, and you won’t need a specific one. However, if you don’t have any masks for some reason, you can purchase them from the nearby Ishikari Market.

How To Complete Oni’s Breath Inn in Ghost of Yotei

Once you gain entry into the inn, the quest has two major parts.

Gather Information By Solving Riddles

After securing entry, move through the crowded inn to find an NPC sitting at the table. He has a golden mask on. When you interact with him, a cutscene will begin. He’ll propose a game of riddles. If Atsu can answer his riddles correctly, he’ll drink. Since you want information, getting him drunk will work in your favor. The following are the riddles he poses and their answers:

Riddle 1: Feed me and I live. Quench my thirst and I die. What am I?
- Answer: Fire

Riddle 2: I have eyes when I have company. I am blind when I am alone.
- Answer: Mask

Riddle 3: I am real within you. I am but a story around you.
- Answer: Demon

After all of the riddles, the man will reveal that one of the Yotei Six is in the Yotei Grasslands region. However, just as Atsu is about to leave, he ambushes her with several of the other men inside the inn.

The battle begins just outside the inn, with a standoff against the man wearing the golden mask. You can finish him right there before moving on to the rest. One of these enemies has a heavy club and can deal significant damage. You won’t be able to parry his attacks, so make sure to take him down quickly and then focus on the others. There’s one ranged attacker firing arrows you need to watch out for. The other raiders shouldn’t pose too much trouble. Make use of your kunai and explosives to make the fight easier. Win this battle and eliminate all enemies to complete the Oni’s Breath Inn side quest.
