During Chapter 1: The Lone Wolf, you can take on and complete the side quest called Marshland Homestead in Ghost of Yotei. You only need to complete the prologue for this quest to appear. In this quest, you will have to rescue a gambler whose crime was winning one too many times against Saito’s men. How To Start Marshland Homestead in Ghost of Yotei

When you approach the Marshland Homestead location, the quest will begin automatically. You’ll see a fenced-off compound with several guards posted in and around it. Before approaching the compound, you might want to take out the enemies posted on guard towers. The bow and arrow should help you eliminate these threats with well-placed headshots.

Once you’ve taken down any threats here, you can choose to enter the compound using stealth or go in fighting. Either way, keep in mind that you won’t be able to finish this side quest without entering open combat later on.

How To Complete Marshland Homestead in Ghost of Yotei

We suggest fighting your way through the guards to get to the prisoner. There’s a standard mix of heavy and light enemies, and you shouldn’t have too much trouble dispatching them. You can take a couple of them down via standoffs, so make sure you time the button press perfectly whenever those opportunities arise.

After you reach the gambler and release her, she won’t immediately run away. Instead, she wants to defeat the remainder of Saito’s men in the homestead. So, another fight will break out. This time, the gambler will also fight alongside Atsu. Once again, there’s a variety of enemy combatants to face here. Watch out especially for archers firing flaming arrows at you. There are also a few dogs that could catch you off guard if you aren’t careful.

Consistently healing your wounds as you keep fighting is key here. You don’t want to be hit with a flaming arrow while your health bar is half empty. Also, the scorch bomb is especially useful in this scenario if you’re trying to thin the herd.

Speak With the Gambler

After defeating all of Saito’s men in the homestead, you can talk to the gambler once more. She’ll thank you for your help and hand over a reward before heading off.
