He now wishes to right that wrong, and it’s up to you to deliver justice.

How To Begin Guns and Consequences in Ghost of Yotei

You begin this quest by visiting Matchlock Murata, a gunsmith, at his workshop near the Karatsu River. You get this information by talking from Oyuki, and the location is then marked on your map. Follow the objective marker and head to the workshop, and you’ll hear Murata crying out for help.

Head inside the house and you’ll find Murata on the floor, bleeding profusely from his stomach. Inquire him and he’ll reveal that a customer shot him with a gun. You’ll then have to heal his wound, for which you need his Sake. The Sake is on a shelf opposite him. Pick it up and give it to him.

Murata will then ask you to bring a ramrod from the other end of the room, and you’ll then use it to close his wound, thereby beginning the Guns and Consequences quest.

After helping Murata recover, he’ll reveal the name of the culprit: Unosuke. Unosuke was the customer who shot Murata, and more importantly, Unosuke works for Lord Saito. Unosuke and his gang have been running roughshod over the area, and Murata wants you to deal with him.

But first, the wounded man wishes that you follow him. Follow the man to the courtyard, and you’ll discover that the man shot Murata’s horse. Enraged, Murata persuades you to hunt Unosuke. He offers a pistol as a reward for doing so. He then directs you toward Unosuke’s location, beginning the hunt.

Head to the marked location in Tokuyama Hills and you’ll find the farmstead set ablaze. Unosuke and his men are killing the settlers. Save the settlers and kill all his men. You’ll then have to finish off Unosuke with the Tanzutsu matchlock pistol. Return to Murata and talk to him to complete the quest.
