In this Ghost of Yotei walkthrough guide, we shall walk you through ‘The Way of the Kusarigama’ side quest in the game.
Ghost of Yotei’s The Way of the Kusarigama quest throws you into a failing relationship between a grandfather and his grandson. A bond that once seemed unbreakable is now destined to spill blood. This is narratively one of the best quests in the game, but in terms of actual gameplay, it’s fairly mundane. The Way of the Kusarigama quest is a series of training modules for the kusarigama weapon, and it can start to feel like a chore midway through.
If you’re stuck on this quest, this guide will walk you to the finish line.
How To Begin The Way of the Kusarigama in Ghost of Yotei

You begin the Way of the Kusarigama quest by visiting the kusarigama master on Owl Mountain, directly northeast of Sarobetsu Forest, and right next to the Sarufutsu River. Head to the location, and you’ll hear a man cry out, “Master Enomoto.” Cross the bridge on this path, and Master Enomoto himself will run out of a bush, asking you to halt.
He’ll state that the Nine Tails are attacking the place and request your help in defeating them. This will kick off The Way of the Kusarigama quest in Ghost of Yotei.

How To Complete The Way of the Kusarigama in Ghost of Yotei

Follow the master and help him kill all the Nine Tails. The master will be grateful and will agree to teach you the way of the Kusarigama. Follow Master Enomoto around and go through his short training course. Proceed ahead deeper into the area and towards the master’s home, and you’ll find more Nine Tails scouring the area.
Take Master Enomoto’s lessons to heart and put them to use against the Nine Tails. Once the foes are vanquished, Master Enomoto will take you to another area, where he’ll tell you of the connection he bears to the Nine Tails. You then have to follow Master Enomoto out into the snow for another training session, where you have to break targets using the Ferocious Whirlwind. After this, climb up further along the mountain to reach another training ground. You have to break more targets here.
Noticing that your technique is incredibly poor, Master Enomoto will ask you to embrace the cold of the mountain. He’ll then make the absurd suggestion to step into the pool in this freezing cold. Well, that’s exactly what you have to do. Sit in the pool and reflect on any past memory of your choice.
