Hades 2: Is the Unseen Card a Bait?

The Unseen Arcana in Hades 2 has been a card discussed by the community for its costs and usage. Is it actually viable, or just bait?

Out of the many Arcana in Hades 2, the Unseen Arcana has been rated very low on the community’s Arcana Card list. This is mainly due to its high cost and a conditional buff. The Unseen Arcana card is a big bait for newer players, as the regeneration has only one activation condition. However, boons will provide enough regeneration throughout your run if you are playing a Magick focused build.

Plus, it has its own cooldown that the game doesn’t tell you about. Due to all these factors, the Unseen Arcana is not recommended by most players, as its Grasp Cost and buff are not worth it.

The Unseen Arcana is not recommended early on, as the 5 Grasp cost covers half of your loadout and might work after you’ve unlocked at least 20 Grasp. It requires 30 ashes to obtain and provides 6 Magick per omega cast till 12. Upgrading the card requires a total of 15 Moondust and 3 Tears. Moondust can be found in the Wretched Broker’s and Charon’s Shops. And, tears are obtained after beating Cereberus.

The Unseen Arcana Card in Hades 2 provides 10 Magick every time an Omega move is cast. So, you might think that this build will help regenerate a lot of Magick while spamming Omega moves. What the game doesn’t tell you is that the Unseen Arcana has an internal cooldown time. Its regeneration doesn’t work if you keep on spamming Omega moves, but only when you slightly delay your Omega moves. This can only be figured out once you start using the card in your loadouts.

Given the expensive Grasp cost of the card, it’s not worth it, as boons also provide Magick regeneration naturally. Demeter, Apollo, and Aphrodite all provide natural Magick regeneration for Melinoe. So, if you’re playing a heavy Magick build, it’s better to grab those boons before going for the Unseen Arcana.

Alternatives to the Unseen Arcana

Persistence, Divinity, and The Centaur are the best alternatives instead of picking the Unseen Arcana. These cards are low in cost and increase your Magick directly or indirectly. With Persistence, you gain up to 40 Magick, and Divinity helps you with better quality boons. The Centaur also provides up to 6 Magick every 5 locations. All of these cards feel better than the Unseen Arcana card and are recommended for the perfect run of Hades 2.
