Ghost of Yotei allows some freedom in terms of Armor customization. Read this guide to find out whether you can transmog in GoY
Sucker Punch’s latest title, Ghost of Yotei, allows customization of armor, helmet, mask, and other items to a certain extent. Although transmog in Ghost of Yotei is absent, it does not mean players can’t customize Atsu as they like.
The ability to transmog in games gives one the freedom to customize their character by changing its appearance to one they like without affecting the equipped Armor’s stats. This time around as well, Sucker Punch has not added a transmog mechanic in GoY. So, let’s take a look at how to customize Atsu in Ghost of Yotei despite the absence of transmog.
Ghost of Yotei: How To Customize Your Armor?
Armors in Ghost of Yotei come with certain buffs and bonuses that affect Atsu’s stats – Onryo, Melee, Ranged, Defense, Utility, and Stealth. Since transmog is not available in GoY, players don’t have to worry about their stats changing when they customize their character.
Atsu’s horse’s saddle, her Shamisen, and all weapons and armour pieces have several unique dyes that change the appearance of the items. Thus, if you invest time into looking for an Armor and don’t end up liking its color scheme, you can purchase a dye from the Dye Merchant.
Dye in Ghost of Yotei can be obtained from merchants by trading Flowers (currency for dye) with them. If you travel by horse a lot, you will not find it very difficult to farm Flowers since there’s an abundance of them in-game.
Follow the steps below to customize your armour pieces and other items in Ghost of Yotei:
- Visit a Dye Merchant and purchase dye for an Armor or any other item you like
- Click the Option button or the touchpad to go to the game menu
- Navigate to the Gear tab
- Choose the item you want to customize (Armor, Shamisen, Saddle, or weapons)
- On the next screen, press the Square button to change the dye
- Choose the dye you purchased or any other dye that you want to equip on your item
