You will begin A Flower For Your Thoughts at the Amber Respite Shrine in the Tokachi Range. To reach it, take the northwest route from Ohara Plains or travel west from Huranui’s Rest Inn. The red torii gates along the trail will confirm you are heading in the right direction. At the base of the shrine path, a weathered note pinned to a dead tree catches your attention. It speaks of blue petals and forgiveness. Once you read it, the quest begins automatically.
Before you collect flowers, climb to the top of the Amber Respite Shrine. Reaching the top gives you access to the Charm of Masakado, which allows Onryo’s Will to fully restore your health upon revival. Steps To Finish A Flower For Your Thoughts in Ghost of Yotei
Once you have finished at the altar, turn left from the shrine’s top and look for a rocky slope. Slide down carefully; it’s a long descent that drops you near a pond surrounded by waterfalls. This lower area is where all three blue hydrangea flowers grow. The place looks serene, but it makes you pay attention since the flowers blend in with the scenery.
Here’s where you will find each one:
- First flower: As soon as you land from the slide, go left. You will spot it between two trees, near a rocky cliff edge with fallen autumn leaves.
- Second flower: Move to the right from the landing point and swim toward the waterfall. The hydrangea rests on a rock path just before the stream flows out.
- Third flower: Go straight ahead from where you landed and follow the water stream. The last flower is hidden in the grass, just left of the stream, near where the upper waterfall feeds the pond.
Once you have gathered all three, it’s time to head back to the shrine entrance. You can climb up a nearby rock and use a wooden plank hanging off a ledge to return safely, or you can fast travel to the shrine to save time.
Back at the entrance, look for a small basket placed where the note was earlier. Interact with it to leave the flowers as an offering. A short scene will play out, wrapping up the quest beautifully. It’s a quiet end that fits the reflective nature of this tale.
A Flower For Your Thoughts Mission Rewards
When you finish the offering, you will earn the Charm of Lingering Affliction. It’s a minor utility charm that gives your status effects like poison or fire a bit more bite. They will last longer and deal more damage. If you use weapons or builds that rely on these effects, this charm will quickly become one of your favourites.
If you completed the shrine climb earlier, you will also have the Charm of Masakado in your collection. That one’s a major Onryo charm that boosts your Onryo stat and makes sure Onryo’s Will revives you at full health.
