In this guide, we’ll explore how you can find and solve all the puzzles related to the closed-off buildings in Ghost of Yotei.
Closed-off buildings in Ghost of Yotei hold useful items and treasure, and hence you’d want to get inside. However, each such building involves a puzzle that you must solve to gain entry. If you’re a new player struggling to find solutions to these puzzles, the following piece should help. In it, we’ll mark down the exact location for all four of these closed-off buildings in the game. We’ll also take a look at how you can solve each one and what you find inside.
All Closed-Off Buildings in Ghost of Yotei

| Crimson Forest | Reach the portion of the map that lies directly north from the ‘M’ and ‘S’ of the word “Crimson” to locate this closed-off building. | Pick up the nearby brazier and light the two lanterns directly underneath the two lying-down fox statues. | Sarobetsu Forest | Head northwest in Teshio Ridge to reach the Sarobetsu forest. Be careful here, as the extreme temperatures can freeze Atsu. Once here, head to the spot on the map that’s just south of the ‘A’ in “Sarobetsu.” This is where you’ll find another closed-off building. | Follow the arrow on the lantern and walk behind it to fall through the ground. Interact with the fox statue that’s in the hole. Then, climb back out and pick up the fox statue on the right side pedestal. Next, place it on the left hand side pedestal. | Sentinel Forest | Once you get to the Sentinel Forest area, proceed to the map spot just underneath the first ‘E’ in the word “Sentinel.” This is where one of the closed-off buildings in Ghost of Yotei is located. | Take a left from the path in front of the building until you reach a fork in the road. Again, choose the left path and slash through some bamboo to reveal the fox statue. Pick it up and carry it back to the building and place it on the empty pedestal there. | Altar of Reflection Intelligence Report |
| Shipwreck Shoal | Head to the extreme north of Teshio Ridge to find Shipwreck Shoal. From there, head to the map point that lies just above the ‘K’ in the word “Shipwreck.” This is where the final closed-off building is. | For the first pair of fox statues, you’ll need to turn them so that they face each other. This releases a rope that you can use to get close to the building. Now, you’ll find a second set of fox statues. This time around, make the two face away from each other.
