In this extensive guide, we’ll explore how you can take on and complete The Path of the Odachi in Ghost of Yotei.
The Path of the Odachi in Ghost of Yotei is a sensei tale you can complete during Chapter 1 of the game. It involves three tasks that you’ll need to complete for Master Yoshida. The quest will have you fight through several tough and challenging enemies. So, before attempting the tasks, we suggest upgrading your weapons and armor and crafting plenty of quick-throw items. With that in mind, here’s an extensive guide for the quest, including how to start it and what you should do to complete the tale.
How To Start The Path of the Odachi in Ghost of Yotei
During the main tale titled The Saito Brothers, you’ll meet with Master Yoshida and eventually obtain the Odachi weapon. As soon as you acquire this weapon, The Path of the Odachi sensei tale will become available. When you speak with Master Yoshida at his dojo after this happens, he’ll ask you to complete a few favors for him. These activities will weaken the Yotei Six’s hold on the entire Tokachi Range region. You can achieve the three objectives in any order you wish. However, completing all of them is mandatory if you want to progress further into the quest.

How To Complete The Path of the Odachi in Ghost of Yotei
You can complete the quest by finishing these three tasks:
- Complete Inokichi the Hungry Bounty.
- Complete Junpei the Snatcher Bounty.
- Liberate the Marshland Homestead Yotei Six Camp.
Inokichi the Hungry Bounty
For this one, head south from Master Yoshida’s dojo to reach Huranui Mills. Proceed inside and take down all the enemies. Once that’s done, you can either start an open duel with Inokichi or try to land a stealth critical attack on him. Either way, once you defeat him, he’ll call for reinforcements. Defeat these additional enemies. Doing this will complete the bounty and liberate the mill from the Yotei Six’s control.
Junpei the Snatcher Bounty
For this one, head to Boar’s Eye Cave, located northwest of Niikappu Falls. At the entrance of the caves, you’ll meet another ronin who will accompany you inside. After agreeing with him to split the bounty rewards, the ronin will realize that Atsu is also one of the bounties. He’ll attack, and you’ll need to defeat him. Once he’s down, proceed further into the cave by climbing up the ladder.
Defeat all the enemies in this area and find a path that leads underground. As you reach the deepest portion underground, you’ll discover a Matsumae prisoner. Rescue this prisoner and exit the underground area along with him. However, as soon as you do, a rifleman will shoot the prisoner and kill him. This also triggers the battle with Junpei and his men. Take all of them down, including Junpei the Snatcher, to complete another one of Master Yoshida’s tasks.
The Marshland Homestead Yotei Six Camp
From Clan Saito’s Training Fortress, head northwest to find the Marshland Homestead camp. It’s brimming with a variety of enemies, but your primary goal here is to locate and rescue a prisoner from inside. As you fight or sneak your way in, you should find the prisoner soon enough. As soon as you release her and have a brief conversation, she’ll want your help in taking down all the remaining guards in the camp. A fight will break out, and the two of you will need to eliminate all the enemies in the area. Once that’s done, speak with the prisoner once more, as she’ll thank you and be on her way. This completes the Marshland Homestead task for Master Yoshida.
Return to Master Yoshida
After completing all three tasks, return to Master Yoshida at his dojo and speak with him. Doing so will complete The Path of the Odachi in Ghost of Yotei. It will also automatically start another sensei tale named The Odachi’s Redemption. You don’t receive any rewards for completing the quest. However, completing the bounties and liberating Marshland Homestead will earn you some rewards.
