Sensei Takahashi’s Persimmon Tree in Ghost of Yotei is a sensei tale from the first chapter of the game. It’s a simple quest once you get down to it. However, you’ll have to meet a few requirements before you can actually begin the quest. It’s a quest worth pursuing and completing since it helps your overall build and grants a sweet reward at the end. How To Begin Sensei Takahashi’s Persimmon Tree in Ghost of Yotei

The quest triggers automatically after you complete The Yari’s Fury, another one of the sensei tales from Sensei Takahashi. In that quest, the sensei teaches you how to wield the Yari weapon. After a bit of training, you’ll face off against a few Oni Raiders. Defeating those raiders with your Yari will effectively finish that quest and start Sensei Takahashi’s Persimmon Tree tale. The first order of business in this quest is learning all of the Yari skills.

How To Complete Sensei Takahashi’s Persimmon Tree in Ghost of Yotei

Earning and Investing Skill Points in the Yari Branch

As mentioned earlier, the task you’ll have to complete here is learning all of the Yari skills. There are five skills for the weapon in total. Assuming you haven’t already invested a point here, you’ll need to spend five skill points to unlock the entire Yari skill tree. That means locating at least five Altars of Reflection.

Seek out five of them to earn the necessary skill points, then invest those points into the Yari branch of your skill tree.

Finding and Hitting the Persimmon Tree

After unlocking all of the Yari skills, make your way to Sensei Takahashi’s dojo. From there, head south until you reach a giant Persimmon tree. This is your target. Once you’re at the tree, equip your Yari by holding down R2 and pressing the triangle button. With it equipped, attack the tree with the weapon. As soon as you do that, a cutscene triggers. Sensei Takahashi will congratulate Atsu on mastering the weapon, and with that, the quest will come to a close.

Rewards From Quest Completion

When the quest ends, you will receive the Yari of Sensei Takahashi (weapon kit). Besides that, you’ll also have mastered the entire Yari branch, allowing Atsu to use it during subsequent combat encounters.
