How To Begin A Matter of Honor in Ghost of Yotei

You begin the ‘A Matter of Honor’ quest by visiting the Smoky Flower Grove in Tokachi Range. Explore this area, and you’ll find a purple flower toward the end. While there is nothing peculiar about the flower, what is peculiar are the candles surrounding it. Walk up to the flower and candles and press R2 to examine them. Your curiosity will then be cut short by a man appearing out of nowhere, essentially kicking off the quest.

How To Complete A Matter of Honor in Ghost of Yotei

Once you examine the flower, you’ll be interrupted by a man. This man seems to have some personal grudge against you and was seemingly ready to make a grand entrance, but his fireworks go off early. After the embarrassing entrance, the man will challenge you to a duel to the death over the hand of Kaori.

Who is this Kaori? Only he knows. He believes you to be someone else and continues with his monologue, only to be embarrassed again by an off-timed smoke bomb. You’ll then be given a dialogue choice to further embarrass him. The man will then, out of nowhere, surrender, set off another smoke bomb, and walk away in embarrassment, bringing the bizarre quest to a close.
