Lost in Reflection in Ghost of Yotei is a side tale that takes place in the Yotei Grasslands region. It’s a simple enough quest, which you can pursue after completing the game’s prologue. In the following guide, we’ll explore just how the quest triggers and what you need to do to complete it.
How To Start Lost in Reflection in Ghost of Yotei
You can begin the quest by seeking out and speaking with the cartographer NPC, named Isaburo. You can find him near the Old Inn. Simply head northwest from Atsu’s home to reach his location. Once you get there, speak to the man. You will be able to buy several maps from him. Regardless of whether you make a purchase, the cartographer will ask for your assistance in finding a monk named Gessho. Apparently, the monk is helping Isaburo to locate a spiritual site nearby. However, he hasn’t returned, leaving the cartographer worried. As soon as the dialogue ends, the side quest will begin.
How To Complete Lost in Reflection in Ghost of Yotei
To complete the quest, follow the steps mentioned below:
Locate Gessho’s Camp Using Your Spyglass
Isaburo literally points you to the direction of the missing monk’s camp. After the conversation with him ends, open your spyglass by pressing the up button on the D-pad and look toward the camp, where you can see the smoke. After locating it with the spyglass, run to the camp to find the monk.
Follow Gessho To the Altar of Reflection
After reaching his camp, talk to the monk about the altar he’s looking for. He’ll invite Atsu along for the journey, and you’ll start following him around. Along the way, you’ll come across several bamboo stalks blocking your path. You can slice them down and keep moving forward. Eventually, you’ll reach the Altar of Reflection, the very first one in the game. Atsu will need to bow in front of this altar. Simply swipe down on the controller touchpad to make her bow. When you do that, Atsu will receive a skill point that you can spend to unlock any of the abilities in her skill tree.

Defeat Saito’s Men
Once you acquire the skill point by bowing in front of the Altar of Reflection, some of Saito’s men will ambush Gessho and you. A fight will begin, and you’ll have to quickly dispatch all of the enemies here. After that’s done, the monk will thank you for your assistance and you’ll part ways with him. This will bring the Lost in Reflection side tale to a close.
There isn’t any rewards you’ll get from the quest in the traditional sense. The skill point from the Altar of Reflection is the sole reward here, and you get while pursuing the quest and not after it’s complete.
