How To Begin The Lost Scouts in Ghost of Yotei
You can only start The Lost Scouts quest after you’ve liberated the Masked Man’s Quarry Yotei Six Camp. The first time you reach this location, it’ll crawl with enemies. You’ll have to take them all down to liberate the camp. After that, the quest will become available to you. To begin, just head to the Matsumae Encampment that sits just north of Masked Man’s Quarry. Once there, speak to one of the Matsumae to start the quest. If you accept the job, he’ll tell you that your task is to head out to an outpost and look for four scouts that the Matsumae sent out recently.
How To Complete The Lost Scouts in Ghost of Yotei
Here’s what you’ll need to do to complete the quest.
Reach the Matsumae Outpost
From the encampment where you receive the quest, head south east to reach the outpost where the four scouts are supposed to be. Once there, you’ll discover signs of an attack, and the bodies of three of the scouts. You’ll also find one set of footprints leading away from the camp. Follow those footprints, until you reach a spot with bloodstains. Interact with those stains, and then open your spyglass to locate the last surviving scouts fighting off Oni Raiders in the distance.

Help the Scout Defeat the Oni Raiders
Quickly run toward the scout’s location and fight off all of the enemies here. Beware of the enemies shooting flaming arrows, and make sure to dodge to avoid being hit by these. There are also enemies wielding weapons that emit flames. Keep a distance from them, and try to take them out using throwables or arrows. Besides them, the other enemies are pretty easy to deal with. there’s a standard fare of shielded foes, enemies with spear and heavy attackers.
Speak With the Scout
After all enemies are down, speak with the sole surviving scout. When you tell him to return to the Matsumae Encampment, he refuses. He says he wants to go home to his wife and kids. At this point, you can make a dialogue choice. Here are your options:
- I could say you died.
- That’s desertion.
We chose the former option, and the scout thanked Atsu and left immediately.
Return to the Matsumae Commander
Return to the Matsumae Encampment and speak with the quest giver. Inform him of the fate of his missing scouts and the quest comes to a close.
Rewards for Completing The Lost Scouts in Ghost of Yotei
After speaking with the Matsumae Commander and ending the quest, you will receive 450 Mon from him as reward.
