In this article, we’ll explore how you can get your hands on all of the saddles in Ghost of Yotei, and what they do.
You can get a couple of different saddles in Ghost of Yotei for your horse. Each of the saddles alter the look of your four legged companion, but nothing more. So, changing the saddles is purely a cosmetic preference, and does not provide any gameplay benefits whatsoever. You can further customize the look of each saddle with different dyes. Ghost of Yotei, like its predecessor, places great emphasis on the brilliant Japanese aesthetics. So, it’s only natural for players to pay greater attention to Atsu and her horse’s looks too. With that in mind, here’s an article that’ll list down all of the saddles and saddle dyes available in the game, and how you can get them.
How To Get Saddles in Ghost of Yotei

You can buy saddles from the saddle merchant, named Konupas the Farrier. She’s a wondering Ainu merchant that you’ll find roaming in various parts of the world with her horse. If you want a guaranteed spot where you’ll run into her, head to the Husko Kotan settlement in the Nayoro Wilds region. Konupas the Farrier will be standing right in the middle of the settlement just beside a building.
It’s important to note that the game features just two distinct saddles. However, you can find a variety of saddle dyes to give each of the saddles many different looks. The two saddles are:
- Traveler’s Saddle: Unlocked from the start
- Hunter’s Saddle: Buy from Konupas for 12 Flowers. After buying this one, you’ll also get separate dye options for the saddle from the merchant.
While you’ll have to purchase most of the saddle dyes in the game, only one is found while you explore the open world. The Morning Dew saddle dye is at the Kamikawa Trading Post. Simply head north from the word ‘Sakuru’ on the map to reach this location.
