This Ghost of Yotei walkthrough will take you through The Yari’s Fury side quest, a quest tied to Sensei Takahashi.
Sensei Takahashi is one of the few men brave enough to take a stand against the Oni and Oni Raiders, and The Yari’s Fury quest shows you the consequences for doing so. In the midst of teaching a lesson, the sensei is subjected to a brutal attack. You then have to fight by his side, put all the techniques you’ve learned to use, and fend off the assault.
The Yari’s Fury is short but jam-packed with action. Finding this quest is fairly easy, but navigating the sensei’s lessons can be a fair bit tricky. If you’re having any issues with this quest, our guide is the one for you.
How To Begin The Yari’s Fury in Ghost of Yotei
You begin the Yari’s Fury quest in Ghost of Yotei by talking to the Sensei Takahashi, the Yari Sensei, in Ishikari Plain, just south of the White Deer Woodlands. Head to the edge of the woodlands and you’ll find Sensei Takahashi giving a lesson.
Walk up to the sensei and press R2 to talk. He’ll inform you that your efforts have borne fruit and his students are now returning in droves. He feels you’re now ready for your next lesson and wants you to strike the tree before you.
Follow his command and attack the tree to strike it. Striking does nothing, and Takahashi reveals that once you’re able to strike the tree and drop a fruit, your training will be complete. For now, you have plenty to learn, so follow the master back to his dojo to kick off the quest.

How To Complete The Yari’s Fury in Ghost of Yotei

Once you’re back inside the dojo, you have to indulge in a few theory lessons. Walk up to the scrolls plastered on the wall and press R2 to read them. Begin with the scroll on the right, and work your way across to the one to the left.
Once you’ve read them all, Sensei Takahashi will give you the chance to put what you’ve learned to the test against a few dummies. Walk up to the dummies and press Triangle + Circle to use the Thundering Wave. Use this technique to break the dummies.
Before you can use the technique against the final dummy, the Oni Raiders will suddenly attack the dojo. Now, you have your chance to test out the technique against more practical targets. Rush out of the dojo and kill all the Oni Raiders. Defeating them all will then bring the quest to a close.
