Learn how to complete the Bloody Strings Hachibee bounty in Ghost of Yotei with location tips, shamisen strategy, combat guide, and rewards.
In Ghost of Yotei, the Bloody Strings Hachibee bounty sends you after a killer hiding in the Ishikari Plain. He is called Bloody Strings Hachibee because he uses the strings of a shamisen as a weapon.
You can start this bounty as soon as you reach Ishikari in Chapter 1, The Lone Wolf, and you do not need to meet any requirements first. This bounty mixes observation and combat. You cannot just attack without thinking. The target hides among a caravan, and all the people there claim to be him. You have to find him before the fight begins.
How To Find Bloody Strings Hachibee Bounty in Ghost of Yotei
Start by going to Ishikari Market. Near the market, you will find Kojiro the Bounty Broker and the bounty board. Look for the poster that says Bloody Strings Hachibee and accept it. A yellow circle will appear on your map, pointing you to the Stone Jaw Coast.
The campsite is north of Ishikari Castle and east of Crimson Dye Beach. Look for smoke rising from a fire under the cliffs. That smoke marks the caravan camp. When you get there, you will see a group of travelers. They seem normal, but everyone in the camp claims to be Hachibee.
Fight With Hachibee

First talk to the caravan leader. The leader wears pink robes and will tell you a crucial tip. Hachibee hates the sound of a shamisen because of something that happened to his father. You need to play your shamisen near different groups to make them react. Most people ignore it or respond politely. When you reach Hachibee, he will get angry and reveal himself.
When he does, the fight begins. Hachibee fights with a group of ronin. You need to move quickly, use attacks that hit multiple enemies, and dodge to avoid being surrounded. After defeating Hachibee and his companions loot his body to get the Straw Hat.
What Rewards Do You Get from Defeating Hachibee in Ghost of Yotei?
Completing this bounty gives you a total of 1200 Coins. You get 750 Coins from Kojiro and 450 Coins from the caravan leader. The Straw Hat is a vanity item that lets you change Atsu’s appearance. This bounty also counts towards the Master Bounty Hunter achievement, which tracks all 31 bounties in the game.
The Bloody Strings Hachibee bounty stands out because you need to find the target using the shamisen and not just by fighting. You get a small puzzle mixed with combat, which makes the encounter more interesting and memorable.
