What is Xyanyde in BG3?
In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Xyanyde is a Mace obtainable in Act 1 from Minthara. It allows the character to mark the enemy with Faerie Fire for two turns if you miss an attack, preventing them from being invisible.
You can equip it to your character’s main hand weapon slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. The user needs Simple weapon proficiency or suffers penalties while wearing the weapon. You can equip it on any class, companion, or character that has Simple Weapon Proficiency.

How to Get Xyanyde in BG3? Explained
You can get Xyanyde from Minthara in Act 1 if you kill her. In Act 1, you can find her in Shattered Sanctum in Goblin Camp. In Act 2, She will be in MoonRise Towers but won’t have the mace.
Kill Minthara in Act 1
If you decide to kill Minthara to get the Xyanyde, you must head to the west to the goblin camp, and she will be planning the attack on the Emerald Grove inside the Shattered Sanctum northeast chamber.
She is a paladin class, and a few goblins will accompany her, so the fight may be challenging depending on your difficulty and your team’s level. Once you defeat her, you can loot the Xyanyde from her body. Be conscious of the wooden bridge, it can be easily destroyed, and anyone who will stands on it drops into the chasm. So if she by accident falls down you won’t be able to get her items.
How to Use Xyanyde in BG3?

- If you want to recruit Minthara in Act 2, but want to get Xyanyde in Act 1 you can knock her out (non-lethal) and steal her weapon and armor.
- Currently, there is a bug which can cause Xyanyde to disappear during Act 2 after you recruit Minthara. If this happens, try searching the the evidence box in the Prison to find it again.
