Granting the wearer the ability to teleport out of danger and reposition with ease, this magical ring is a game-changer for both casters and melee characters alike. In this guide, we’ll explore the Ring of Blink, how to acquire it, and tips for using it effectively in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur's Gate 3 Ring of Blink BG3

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Ring of Blink is an accessory that grants the user access to the Blink spell, which can be cast once per Long Rest. Furthermore, the Blink spell is a good protection spell, especially for casters or other range builds. You cast it on yourself, and at the end of your turn, you’ll roll an 11DC. Should your dice land higher, you’ll vanish into the Ethereal Plane. While there you cannot be harmed or seen.

This is different than a regular Invisibility spell, which is strong, but enemies can sometimes pass a check and detect you. A successful cast of Blink will completely conceal you. Additionally, on your next turn, you can choose to teleport within a 6-meter radius.

Finally, the Blink spell has a duration of up to 10 turns, although you will need to successfully pass the dice roll check to be hidden each time.

To get the Ring of Blink in Baldur’s Gate 3 you first need to visit Danzo at the Sword Coast Couriers in Rivington. It’s in the north area of Rivington, just before the South Span Checkpoint. When you speak to Danzo he’ll mention that his courier pigeons haven’t been reliable lately and keep disappearing. Agree to help him find them. At this point, you’ll want to make sure to cast the Speak with Animals spell or drink the Potion of Animal Speaking. Additionally, to make the next steps a bit easier, if you recruited Gale and don’t have him in your active party, then head back to camp and swap him in.

Next, head across the road and over to the Open Hand Temple. You’ll need to go around the north side of the building and not directly into the temple itself for this item. On the side of the building, you’ll find some roots you can use to climb to the roof.

At the top, look to your left (south) and you should see the tressym, Tara standing over a nest full of pigeon bits. Interact with her and listen to the conversation between her and Gale. He will notice the ring at her feet and thank her for the gift automatically. When the conversation ends, the Ring of Blink can be found in Gale’s inventory!

If you don’t have Gale with you, however, you’ll have to convince her to leave the roof of the temple to get the ring. Make sure you can speak with animals or you won’t get far.

While speaking to her you will have to pass two 15DC dialogue checks. Both times you will have an Intimidation, Deception, or Persuasion dialogue option to choose from. Once Tara has left, you will find the Ring of Blink and the Bundle of Letters in the nest!
