The Neurocitor is a Neural Switchboard found in the Steel Watch Foundry in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate 3.
The Steel Watch Foundry is a factory found in the third act of Baldur’s Gate 3. The Neural Switchboard, or the Neurocitor, is located in the deep end of the factory, and it can be used to destroy the Steel Watch.
In this guide, we shall take you through finding the Steel Watch Foundry, interacting with the Neural Switchboard, and destroying the Steel Watch.
How To Enter the Steel Watch Foundry
The Steel Watch Foundry produces units of the Steel Watch. The factory is located in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate, next to the Gray Harbour docks (X: -291, Y: -163). To get inside the building, follow the steps below:
- Approach the gates of the factory and use Thieves Tools to get inside.
- Patrolling the outskirts is a Steel Watcher. You can either fight it or sneak past it to go to the main gate.
- Alternatively, instead of entering through the outer gates, you can go around the perimeter near the docks where you will find vents. Turn into a cloud to access the vents and enter the building.
Inside the Steel Watch Foundry
Once you enter the building, you will be greeted with a cutscene or a fight, based on your progress in the Save the Gondians Quest. Depending on how the fight goes, you can save the people in the room. From here on out, you can proceed as below:
- Pass through the main hall across the backrooms, and then go to the building’s basement.
- Underground will be heavily guarded, so deal with the enemies and work your way across till you reach the Steel Watch Titan and two Hellfire Watchers.
- This boss trio is formidable; you can either sneak past them or choose to confront them. Beating the Titan grants you the Gontr Mael legendary bow. The Titan is weak to lightning damage, so you use that your advantage with arrows and spells.
How To Destroy the Steel Watch
Once you’re past the Steel Watch Titan, you will hold the fate of the foundry in your hands. At the end of the boss arena lies the Neural Switchboard, aka the Neurocitor. To disable the Steel Watch Foundry, you must destroy this switchboard. You can use the Runepower bomb. Interact with the Neurocitor to find a cavity to plant the bomb. Let the sparks fly and watch the Steel Watch get destroyed.
You can also approach Zoobin, one of the Gondians you saved back in the room earlier. Talk to him and escort him to the panel so he can destroy it. Or, you can pickpocket him to get his book. Read the books by the surgery table to get the “true name of Gond,” which will give you the code required to destroy the Steel Watch.
If you had failed at saving Zoobin, do not worry. Cast Speak to the Dead on him to gain his knowledge and destroy the Neurocitor accordingly.
