Arrow of Many Targets is an overpowered item in Baldur’s Gate 3 because it can hit up to four targets within an 18-meter range and debuff each.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, Arrow of Many Targets allows players to hit up to four targets with one consumable arrow. The initial target hit takes full damage, while three others within 18 meters take half damage. What makes the Arrow of Many Target so overpowered is the ability to use poisons or oils in conjunction with it. For instance, players can use a Githyanki Ranger build for Honour Mode to use oil of Combustion on their weapons with a bonus action. Each enemy hit with the arrow of many targets will receive an oil that, when exploded, will deal 3-18 fire damage. The Ranger has Extra Attack features, so you gain two attacks with one action, allowing your follow-up arrow to trigger the explosions. Using either Smokepowder Arrow or Fire Arrow, you can easily do 50-70 damage all targets in a huge radius.
Another overpowered combination to use with Arrow of Many Targets is having a melee build like Lae’zel on Fighter equip the Bhaalist Armour in Act 3. The Bhaalist Armour debuffs enemies within a 3-meter radius, doubling piercing damage via Aura of Murders. Therefore, have your melee Fighter approach your primary target and double your piercing damage with Arrows. Have the Fighter move from target to target as your Ranger or range build destroys them with Many Targets Arrow.
How to Use Arrows in Baldur’s Gate 3
To use Arrows in Baldur’s Gate 3, select your ranged attack, which will pop up another bar showing consumable arrows. Select the arrow you wish to use, adding a specific effect to the arrow and the base damage. Arrows are consumable, so each shot will deduct one from the total. Players should stock up on elemental arrows, many targets, and enemy-specific because they add so much damage. Most of the best arrows in BG3 start appearing in Act 2, The Last Light Inn. Arrows cannot be crafted and must come from vendor bartering and trading, so stock up on every trip to a merchant.
Coatings can also be applied to your weapon and aid in each arrow or ranged attack. Drow Poison, for instance, inflicts sleep to target enemies who fail a constitution check. Therefore, players can use this coating with a bonus action before firing the overpowered Arrow of Many Target and possibly stun up to four targets. Other combinations exist, such as Serpent Fang Toxic, Wizardsban Oil, and Purple Worm Toxic. If you want to squeeze every ounce of performance from your build, apply oils before combat.
Build Tips
The best build tip for using Arrow of Many Target is selecting a ranged class with Extra Attack like the Fighter, Bard, and Ranger. The Ranger makes the best choice because they gain spellcasting, specifically Ensnaring Strike and Hunter’s Mark. Before combat, enter stealth and apply oils, coatings, elixirs, and spells like Bless or Longstrider. Enter turn-based combat and attack the highest threat to trigger the Surprise status effect. If done properly, you can surprise the enemy and skip their first turn. Therefore giving you an entire round of combat without retaliation. However, some enemies have the Alert feature, which prevents surprise, so be sure to examine an enemy before attacking.
